Offering materials to BMS…

I guess this is a forever loop.
Kinda trolling.
It’s like a contract : you are free to sign it, but if you sign it, you accept the terms.
Terms are simple for BMS : you give, they have the full authority.
No need to complain about it.
I accepted it.
As I said, my work have absolutely no reason to exist without BMS, while BMS absolutely don’t need me.
So, to exist, I need them.
A so much simple syllogism, everyone should understand and integrate.
If BMS want my F-2, I give and it’s becomes theirs. If they need updates, they can ask me, or do as they want. I don’t mind.
It’s just a model made to entertain people.
I have more to gain from BMS than they have from me.
This is as simple, in the end.
Exactly my sentiment man. Alternative: Do I want to spend my time running BMS which for me would be the only situation suitable for me to make decisions such as those discussed in this thread? Answer: Nope. Conclusion: Comply.
Result: Let’s all enjoy our collaborative efforts under the managed umbrella of the BMS team.
Who a fan? I’m a fan.
This discussion does seem to turn into a catch-22 and there’s a lot of repitition and misunderstanding/interpretation going on BUT I still enjoyed the whole exchange. Nuff’ said from my end.
Thanks to the team, whoever they are, and all ‘non-team’ contributors and users of this crazy ass 1998 piece of upgraded and improved beyond any recognition software

? I do not follow you? …
he means that if mods are from the creator and not from BMS those will not be supported by bms as u say now… have a clean install and report your bug or crash log.

It is like this since the beginning.

Give. No conditions.
Lend. Conditional
I hope people give.

Yes I believe that way he wanted to make a good point that in many cases there where some problems maybe even with installing the mods, by users fault.
By having it via official BMS setup u have the assurance everything is ok and on the other hand u will not have support from BMS if the mod is out of BMS install. -

Not really insurance that everything I ok … as you know, a lot of bugs in BMS still remains. But we (BMS team) will only study and have a look (if time permit) into stock install troubles. Not on external mods.

ATM all current and released max files reside on the F-O dev server on the instance that any particular author become unavailable. Now if context is if F-O no longer becomes available then there would be an issue if BMS needed something.
When something more viable, LOD’s BMS can use, then we can revisit this issue of giving or not giving. However, working together is another topic not yet discussed.

Obviously resurrecting a bit of an old thread, but I think there was just some miscommunication here. As I understand it, BMS team just needs a sort of copy of all the files, so they can manipulate that copy if needed to fit the needs of BMS. Nimzo would keep the original files and would still be completely free to edit, upgrade, etc. his original files. I’m just a bit confused, because Nimzo has made some incredible pits from the ones I’ve looked at, especially the F14 and F15 and I think they have a place in the next version of BMS, and would hate to have those lost to some simple miscommunication.

There is always just some miscommunication here.
