Redflag RP5 V5.0 Preview
-
As many of you know the Redflag Theaters are based on Korea and a Falcon-Online production, which came a long way since Version 1.0 over a year back.
With each version we try to improve and perfect things in the theater and in the campaign.
Among countless many many other fixes and improvements, which are based on the “Redflag Concept”, allow me to post couple preview-shots of the upcoming Redflag 5.0 terrain. This terrain is a cooperation between Polak and me. Whereas he worked on the tiles (textures) my work was the implemtation of the new elevations, pathes, areas, roads, .thr file, bin file, objective placement and plaining (even elevation below) etc… for the entire map.

After merging RF4 Korea elevations with Polak new Korea tiles:
Personally i want to thank Polak for his outstanding work. Especially for:
- the ability to create a great looking terrain without the usage of 100% photorealistic tiles (which is not possible anyways due to limitations). This semi-photorealistic approach resolved in a great compromising result.
- the ability to make tiles fade into eachother seemless and without repetitive patterns throughout the whole theater
- the naturalistic color tinge in order to make the terrain more authentic

Wow! Thats amazing stuff guys! It Looks fantastic! Thank you very much for your outstanding hard work gentlemen. Great!
-
Looks way nice… Hard work there…
-
Wow, thanks for your hard work A.S. and polak!
… is it true that rivers / seas are flattened to one level now? Long time I awaited this to happen!
And now we have one more beautiful tileset for the - still true: - best Campaign area in Falcon - Korea.Polak tiles look like Kodak pictures!
Are you gonna host two campaigns (Balkan + Korea) at the same time on two servers now?
I have to get on the multi player wagon.

That already happened with Redfalg 4.0. No water flowing over hills and no anti-gravity water anymore.
Not only that… ALL the waters have natural decline, meaning inland you will see water at MSL at 200-250 feet i.e., decreasing gradually towards the coast (0 MSL) :).
Furthermore, NO building is sitting on a tilted tiles (hanging halfsided in the air). There is soo much fix in redflag over the last 12month… i cant even count even if i wanted to (never made a changelog).

How can be adapted for other Korean theaters? I have imported your objects. Is there any way to import this terrain into and 3rd party MOD which uses Korea map?
Or just easier to apply my theater on the whole RF5.0? I mean from campaigns the units can be exported and imported. I simply replace your DB with mine. This should work right? Of course with your permission.

Excellent! On a par or surpassing FSuX and XPX now, sir. Well done.

While thanking BMS, AS , Monster for TE and original Korea terrain creators for the opportunity to bring Falcon little new look, I also want to thank all supporters here now for good reception of my work.
In summer colors the tiles are tad more greener and feel of the terrain is little more far east. Anyway there are quite few details which no shots will provide now, but rather use and fly over by the users at FO. Good news is that my work is/was finished quite a while ago and now AS is putting important coordination work for the project to work as a whole. So this is not really remote WIP, but hopefully soon to be enjoyed affair.
All comments (including constructive critical) most welcomed.

Style is best what i have seen this far

Really magnificent work guys, “hats off”… Looking forward to the next Red Flag on FO.

Actually this is very easy, but first let me finish everthing and publish it (3-4 falcon weeks :=) )
The only thing to worry about would be the location of objectives, so they are placed spot on where the elevation if prepared for them (plain) and the bridges (as the rivers are different here).
So if you already adapted RF4 DB then its just copy paste files thingy and a fix in save0.cam file. -

Nope I only imported objects from campaigns, but the database is still mine. I cannot adapt any other DB because soo many things have been changed in mine that is impossible to adapt quickly on any other.
Does this mean that in \terrdata\objects you made changes on some objects and their DB entries? If in your DB all object are the same only with different data the export/import should work I just need a list what you changed.

Nothing changed for the objectives (loaction of them) from RF4 to RF5.
But i have to re-do the loactions of the bridges as polak has wider rivers and slightly different river flowing.
