TacRef Editor - where to place VB6FR.dll?
-
I just dig out Skyfire76’s TacRef editor…but unable to run the tool.
popup says - the language DDL"VB6FR.dll" can not be found.
I download a copy of VB6FR.dll, then - where to place the file for running TacRef Editor?
-
Possibly in the folder with the TacRed Editor .exe??
I’m looking on my system to see if I have it.
C9
-
Or Windows\system32

LSthanks! I can fire up TacRef Editor now… in win10.
BUT - when I open BMS TacRef, it said… some error encountered.
the log.txt show:TypeRecord #28781 unknown at offset #25879 in function OpenTacref
the TacRefDB.bin file only show THREE objects. once I hit save button, the file size down from 1.7mb to 26kb!!

Here in 4.33 U1 it opens and saves the TacRefDB.bin just fine.
Uhmm, maybe those .dll needs to be registered.
So here is my folder for install, maybe vbrun60sp5.exe will do it.

LSIt works fine here on W7Pro, the first download, don’t need the .dll you just posted.
Tks, I couldn’t find my copy of TacRef Editor, must be on my old drive that’s not hooked up at the moment

Could be that we don’t need the .dll I’ve posted.
Because there is a .log for the dll’s I think I’ve them DL
additionally myself.Looking at the original DL @PMC there is no .dll included at all.
Anyway, it runs for you on Win7 Pro and me on Win7 Ultimate,
so it should run for ccc on Win10.Cheers,

I cannot use the second zip. the first one works, but unable to open existing BMS TacRef bin correctly - only three item left.
no problem, I build a new, rough TacRef from scratch …
BTW could you take some TacRef editor screenshots for me?
I want to know how to set up " zoom adjust value" for model… it seems that slot is not working. Also, please take editor screens from Hawk or Nike SAM… I want to know how to make SAM missile lod show up on launcher lod.
thanks in advance.

I 've actually checked the SkyfireTacRefEditor_v2_install.rar and it opens fine here, using winrar !

In this screenshot I’ve changed “zoom adjust value” from 0 to 1 and pressed the set button.
Then I did a save - exit - restart for check.
… “zoom adjust value” remains at 1.Btw. “bubble help” says:
Should be 0 (zero)I hope it helps.

hmm… the zoom adjust value can be saved - but no work at all.
as for [missile flag] slot - can’t save my change…
IIRC in a very early version of TacRef editor, I can load different missiles on launcher vehicle…
