WIP : C-17 Globemaster III

Some corrections on the model, the fuselage has been reworked and optimized, still looking for a painter
-
I think it can benefit from 2-3k polys moreā¦

If you need pictures, I can get some. I work on C-17s

Nop unfortunately, the challenge with 3d modeling in BMS is that you have to make it with a small number of trianglesā¦
But of course i would like to have more triangles ā¦
If you need pictures, I can get some. I work on C-17s
Yes of course ! please share it !
-
How many now?
-
Around 9700 triangles the limit is : 10000

From WaveyDaveās thread: Poly Count
Aircraft
For front line aircraft the upper limit is 30,000 triangles.

Used the C-17 (or at least I believe it wasā¦) from RV4 in this old video.

Thx, I didnāt known that the C-17 was a front line aircraftā¦

Great Video, respect.

It absolutely is, along with C-5 Galaxy.

And - we voted YOU the (well deserved) winner of that competitionā¦!
(Initially some dissent, but T-Rex and I lashed out with our well-oiled Falcon Politic until we characteristically steam-rolled you throughā¦)
Ahā¦ Mistyā¦

Well,
The important point is the definition of a frontline aircraft.
If we consider that the C-17 is a frontline aircraft, I would simply request : what is a second line aircraft?
If somebody wants to make a KAI T-50,
as long itās not a fighter aircraft but rather an advanced trainer with combat abilities, is it a second line aircraft?
While it has a F-16 style cockpit :
People would be more than happy to have this aircraft with 30.000 triangles, a choice that would moreover be relevantā¦ But itās not a frontline aircraft, obviously.
So, this simple comparison should make people react and cogitate about the very simple question : what do we expect for a frontline aircraft?
I guess, we should then clarify this first line category, to avoid any misunderstandings.
Best regards,
Radium

Good point Radium.
I thought that BMSās āfrontlineā aircraft meant aircraft you would frequently run across in a mission, but it may mean key fighter/bombers.

If I come back to my KAI T-50, itās not a key fighter or bomberā¦
But no one would do it 10K triangles but rather 30k.
Just my cogitation!

Hey guys,
If I come back to my KAI T-50, itās not a key fighter or bomberā¦
But no one would do it 10K triangles but rather 30k.
Just my cogitation!
the important thing is: Someone would do it!
Cheers

Think this would make an excellent aircraft to develop as a trainer for integration into BMS.
-
Well now, why we forgetting the F-5?

Well now, why we forgetting the F-5?
If one day I decide to make a F-5, I will do Singapore F-5S as itās the most advanced F-5 ever built.
Kinda F-16zed F-5ā¦

Would love if you could do a Brazilian F-5EM
