Mig 29 cockpit made for Flightgear by Sergey “Mercenary_Mercury” Salov. Adapted and converted to F4BMS by Metalhead.
This is a WIP, and here is the first preview of the work.
3D model and textures by Sergey “Mercenary_Mercury” Salov.
Convert and animations by Metalhead
For the Moderators: This models were released under the GPL v3 license which grants me full access to the models without a need to ask permission to the original owner/creator of the file, but I have sent him an email asking for the written permission, and he granted me that. I can forward the email if needed, but for the moderators only.
A video, and the real aircraft cockpit:Download link: WIP

Would be great if finally OPFOR vs BLUEFOR campaign can be playable with real red jets. This can be the first step.
-
this is easy to arrange.
-
Looking forward to see your progress.
Still hoping for a modern SU pit. One day.

…I’m hoping that I’m not bringing something back up to the surface that I shouldn’t, but was the last high-poly Su-27 and its cockpit determined to be… not up to, well, moral standards? If so, well, good call for the moderators.
…Regardless of that, good on the MiG-29 pit! Hopefully you’ve worked out something with the original author so that both of our communities can have a beautiful working cockpit. For additional reference, you might consider checking out a few of the screenshots of the Payware MiG-29 for X-Plane. It can’t beat any of the Falcon cockpits for appearance, but it’s still quite impressive.

I did not understand very well what you’ve wrote here….
I am not working with the original author of the mig 29 flightgear. I have just asked for a permission to use it and its textures in F4BMS, and he gave me authorization. About the su27, I will make one from scratch in the future, I want to see envy people saying bullshits then…
About the moderators… I want to make all things very clear here, avoiding envy people saying BS.
About the mig29 cockpit, I have been working on the cockpit and textures, in order to gather the models and textures which were split, every texture and model inside a separated folder, it does not fit Falcon4, and it had lots of textures. Now it has until now 6 different textures 2048 of size.
I will have to translate the labels from Russian to English which will not be an easy task to do, and will create psd files in order to be able to change the color in the future, if needed.
No more for now. I will post some pics of the wip in the next days.
To Shadow: I will work too on the Su 30 that you want so much… Just be patience a little bit more my friend.
Regards Metalhead -
This is going to be really awesome when the MiG-29 FM is improved. I know there are severe limitations in regards to a high fidelity effort to the FM, but to improve it to at least a point that it simulates real world performances to a certain degree. This has been needed for a loooong time in falcon 4, considering the paired adversary has always been considering the fulcrum.

Are you referring the incident of 611-Eagle and “his” 3D models?

Are you referring the incident of 611-Eagle and “his” 3D models?
According to Metalhead explanations, he is clean, there is nothing else to add, there is clear evidence that he has the right to do so.

Thaeris, as my good friend TagKnigt would say “read this”

Are you referring the incident of 611-Eagle and “his” 3D models?
Yes, more or less… I do not know how it is going, or if it is still allowed by the BMS moderators, but I will not be worried with that. I can make one from scratch, of course it will not be awesome as the Eagle’s models, but can be used in F4 BMS community in order to have fun.
Now, Nizmo is claiming he has the rights for those models, but they are now EBS models, and I do not have any right to them… I am not worried, and I do not want to know about either.
I will make my models as my “targets”.
To Shadow again: My last wrongly try to connect to the new 801st server is now fixed. I did not change anything… I just restart the modem/router and now it is working, ate least for now. I will try later at night. BTW, I tried to post this in the "General Discussion - Falcon 4 Support, Tips & Tricks " thread in the 801st forum, but I am not allowed to start a new topic on that.

Metalhead,
What you do is exactly what we are trying to achieve as mods : work in full transparence.
You come up saying upfront that it’s not fully your work, it comes from another entity and you asked permission to use it and distribute it freely amongst BMS users.
you did get permission from the original author. Then your bona fides are obvious and you won’t get any trouble from the moderators
We ask no more -

I have received rights to the Su27 and SU30, but I do not plan on building these cockpits. New cockpits will be built with full BMS perms.

Edited, because he does not deserve any “good” reply… so nothing to say about his comments anymore

I am trying to recreate the source files of the textures now. I will need it in order to have the labels translated to English, but, It is difficult to find a Russian font which fits the original made by Sergey “Mercenary_Mercury” Salov. I need for sure someone who can read and type/write in Russian to help me with this work. Otherwise it will take more then “10” falcon weeks to be finished, or, people will fly a real Russian jet, with all labels in Russian…
I spent 30 minutes in only one word and I could not make it as good as possible…
Hey someone Russian out there, help me!!!:D:D:D -
OSD and SpgGoro as I know are native Russians speakers.
