AIR SOURCE CONTROLLER HIDDEN IN PIT OF BMS 4.32 RAMP START (SEE PICTURE)

I can still get this to work but I cannot see what I am clicking on.

Yep.
Using a TIR or the “Guided Snap View” mode makes you able to see it.
No big deal anyway.
-
have you tried moving your head forwards?
No seriously, if you have a form of head tracking setup, thats the solution, move your head forwards.
If you dont have a way for the game to track your head (Freetrack, FaceTrackNoIR, TrackIR, Occulus Rift, etc…), then I suggest you look at getting one.
If you dont plan on being able to get one, then I guess for now you will have to just live with not being able to see under the armrest (which is what is in the way of the knob). The same caveat holds true for the FUEL LOW caution panel indicators, the EPU fuel gauge, the ENG CONT switch, the Nuclear Consent Panel, and finally, most of the cockpit if you have the pilots legs mod installed.

Another alternative is to assign a keystroke for it. Similar to:
SimIncAirSource 1140 0 0X3E 3 0 0 1 “AIR COND-AIR SOURCE Knob Inc”
SimDecAirSource 1140 0 0X3D 3 0 0 1 “AIR COND-AIR SOURCE Knob Dec”
SimAirSourceOff -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “AIR COND-AIR SOURCE Knob Off”
SimAirSourceNorm -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “AIR COND-AIR SOURCE Knob Norm”
SimAirSourceDump -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “AIR COND-AIR SOURCE Knob Dump”
SimAirSourceRam -1 0 0XFFFFFFFF 0 0 0 1 “AIR COND-AIR SOURCE Knob Ram” -
Switch on the “key 2 view” make this button to be far more visible.
Whitout the help of a TIR, I usually start the bird in using this view to navigate beetween consoles.
I swap to 3D view (key 3) when the engine runs. -
Here’s another thought for the future: If pilot limbs being visible or not, or the controllers being visible or not, etc., can be a feature, why not have the armrest as having visiblity the user can toggle on and off? It’s really not an extreme suggestion, as not everybody can get head-tracking software because of budget or performance (the latter if you were, say, using FaceTrack with a webcam and suffering from excessive lag). Such a development won’t happen overnight of course, but it would be better to consider that as a course for long-term plans than effectively just telling users, “FU, go buy stuff.” Now, that’s not quite the case here, as there are other view controls, but that really is something for asset devs to consider in cockpit design.

Well, the pilots limbs are an add on to the current cockpit we have. I am under the impression that the BMS devs dont have the original source files for the current cockpit… and that the cockpit creator did not leave permission to modify it.
That caveat stated, I think that having the armrest moveable is a cool idea, but probably shouldn’t be a priority. Probably in about the same priority level as letting the users motor the canopy normally (instead of clicking on the canopy lock).

On my part, I am using a 3-monitor setup and even with the “key 2 view” I still am unable to get to some switches that are useful in ramp start. Having “removable” elements fom 3D view, as Thaeris sates, would be great.
Thank you !

Out of interest, which switches are a problem for you in the locked 3D view (2)?

Stay in 3D view, aim at the Oxygen Regulator panel, then the switch pops up. Just as what Renard posted above. Quite simple huh?

Well thank you everyone for the feedback. I sure cannot afford a IR package. I am military retiree. Limit funds. Everything really cost these days. You can’t even have basic fun anymore without throwing your wallet out the window.
I wil make due with what you all brought foward to the the table to use. LJQCN101 is showing the other one beside the the one I was talking about two in the same area.Regards, Seniorchief.

Wait 3 - 4 weeks and your problem will be solved.

I think that’s the most interesting teaser about 4.33 yet.

sigh … you should ban yourself for all that teasing!

It is not teasing, but just to avoid him to buy a TIR without absolute needs (even if TIR is a REAL big + to enjoy this sim)

I assume these are Falcon weeks, as always?

What do you think ?
I think the holidays are coming up in 4-5 real weeks, and this would be a nice present under the virtual Christmas tree. ^^
A release then should probably come with a disclaimer that BMS is not responsible for possible divorces, break-ups or family fights, though. -
What do you think ?
Pretty much what Eagle Eye was saying, given the time of year it would be pretty cool if the 3-4 falcon weeks coincided with real time.
Yeah, Vainglorious hopes, I know…
