ACMI and CATM missiles

I added the weapons to the aircraft in f4browse but they are not showing up in the squadron stores list. I did this before I posted post 10

hmmm
I looked in my additions and I see the same, it looks like a limiter is there and it reads only 602 weapons: http://tactical.nekromantix.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=22594&p=187520&hilit=Squadron+stores#p187520So u have to delete one weapon that u don’t use and replace it with the new weapon u want…
Am I right guys?
IIRC Raptor was mentioning something about this…
oops here it says it tooo: https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?6660-Weapon-resupply-in-campaigns/page2

I have passed 720…

IIRC There is a way to make them show in a campaign. You need to use F4Browse and tacedit.
-
yeap in Raptors case he must replace 118 weapons from the stock weapons DB.
Don’t know if it will work changing ID’s with HEX edit then doing it with f4browse…
meaning Raptor has the 720 already in. If he added them (obviously) then those above 602 will not be available for the campaign so u must edit - change one by one all the parameters per weapon… yeap right… needs strong nerves.
So open with a HEX editor and switch ID’s… did anyone tried that before?
IIRC there are and other files that use the same ID’s right? -
The db in my setup has been expanded to all aspects, new aircrafts, new weapons both live and fully functional captive a2a/a2g, as and sam and ship enhancements to reflect real world scenarios. Everything is documented step by step and when I will find the time to finalize some stuff the best parts will be shared with the community. Stuff in campaigns appear to work ok, but we train mostly on realistic TE’s so I don’t have to experiment too deep with such campaigns, well until EMF I guess.

whats the deal with the acmi missiles. online info gives me the impression that they are just for data and training purposes but i dont think i understand what they do differently

anybody?

anybody?
real ones dont fire, for one. Just carriage to simulate the same drag the aircraft would have if it had a live missile on the wing.
I think they also can have sensors on board for use in evaluating BFM/ACM?

nything with -T at the end is for training then and wont do any damage to enemy? iris-T?

no?

For a2a weapons, training ones are named like CATM-9M, -9P, -9X, -120A/B/C (for both C5 and C7 versions) meaning Captive Air Training Missile. The IRIS-T is a generic and rather old name going back to its development marketing tricks. Its name is A-2000 for the active missile and TA-2000 for the training one, but in some manuals is also referred as CATM-2000. In bird’s SMS though is displayed as T2000 for the training.
Training a2g weapons usually start with the “T” letter, like TAGM-65G for the training maverick G version, TAGM-88 for the harm, TGM-84 for the harpoon etc.

The ACMI pod is used to track aircraft attitude which can be streamed live or played back during debriefs. The CATM (AIM-9 trainer) is just the seeker-head so the pilot gets realistic queueing and tones.

You have have to choose missiles that are not used. I chose the AAM-3, AIM-4C,D, and G and used them. The campaign only uses till about Weapon ID 699 I believe.
