Nizmo Thank You !

Yes Nizmo just *****'n awesome!

@Cpt:
Awesome. …
Can’t wait to do a carrier based campaign. …
All of the Korea 2012 campaigns include human flyable F-14 squadrons based on carriers. All of the campaigns that I build into 3rd party theatres will include flyable F-14s based on carriers. So, there will be ample opportunity to enjoy Nizmo/team’s package while getting your Navy Wings:)
-
Wow, finally it worked, will bring some feedback soon…
Cheers

PS
I like the FM, very smooth feel, I know this is a non scientific approach, saying feel lol. -

Make sure they are F-14B only or F-14A….don’t add an F-14D and use this pit please, wait until the D pit is done.

The original Microprose placed F-14 aircraft in the Korea 2012 theatres are F-14A models. F-14D Squadrons were based on the newly added carriers. My original intent on doing that was to allow the use of MyKinge’s F-14D cockpit when it was added to the user’s BMS install at a later date.
Somalia along with my other the 3rd party theatre projects will get F-14B or D models depending on the campaign’s timeframe. Thus, the modern Somalia campaign I am building at the moment received one F-14D squadron based on the USS Roosevelt. Somalia’s 1980s Cold War campaign, which I will build at a later date, will get the F-14B.

Seem to get random crashes with this one, at least in dogfight:
… one:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/1nsm318kjcv6gsw/Crashlog.rar…last one, not the above, screen freeze when entering 3D, red screen, was able to exit the dogfght.
…with today’s installer overwriting the mod-on Drive.
Little feedback:
Might have been already mentioned…

Thanks for the input.
AFIK there is a cockpit switch that the pilot can use: spoilers, speedbrakes, anti-skid, or all off on the same switch. Now AFIK that what is seen here in the picture.
The spoilers ARE acting as surfaces from the FM, they aren’t just animations. Now again, AFIK all my information seems that the “way it is now” is how it should be. We cant turn ON the speedbrakes and spoilers if I turn it off. IMO we should leave it like this.
The FM I had removed “flaperons” so this should not be a problem still, the v2.01 came with all new files. Update them all.

OK, copy that, will try later Nizmo…

Will i be making a too bold of a statement if i say this is probably the most “lively” pit-3d model combination for the Tomcat i have ever seen??! :bowd:
Seriously lads, you are doing a great job. So far, i have only took her up with the pit on (no external model) but judging from the videos and pics…… i’m loving it! -

A few more remarks:
Tested the new FM, in fact with my system, the Fm files must be tranported manually on top.
I liked it and the spoiler animation seemed fine-to me as non Tomcat expert.
What I like is that the airbrake keeps being extended when the gear is down, see here in a higher altitude test regime…:
In usual Falcon setups, the brake automatically retracts once the landing configuration is reached aka when gear is fully down.
What I did not like was that with the previous, November date FM file (the altered one), the “annoying” flap sound inside the cockpit was gone, loved this very much…now it is in again.
One humble suggestion would be try to add a gree tint on the center inner windscreen, Tomcat A model style, that would rock. If you point me to the relevant are, I can try this myself.
The pit is maybe 90% perfect yet, but unlike many others, it has charme, you guys did the right things right to transport a unique feel and authenticity.
BTW anyone using blue and white MFDs on this bird seriously needs to reconsider his brains, including myself lol!;)
I will switch to green from now.
Another thing we hope to get is the typical F-14 ejection seat later on.
Thanks for the alpha.
Cheers

Tom,
what you see there is a WIP. Eventually it will look the way you see on my wing texture with 4 seperate spoilers on each wing that will move individually according to AFM data wrt the wing sweep angle, air brake setting, air speed and cockpit switch setting. They will also be actuated from their respective hinge points on the wing structure as will the flaps and slat (Slat seems to already be fully functioning and moving at the correct angles and AFM settings) - all the wing stuff is in the model beneath the surfaces :).
@Nizmo: Please correct me if I got anything wrong.

Crazy, is your image the second version F-14 pit or you made the new glass reflections both on instruments and cockpit bubble? I guess the 3D model is also the deafault.
-
I think the shot I posted was the 2nd version, which has changed animations on gauges (lights e.g.) and a much less drastic canopy reflection, I will post a shot or two later, in case you referred to my post.
In any case the 2nd version is very nice.

Hi folks,
I have a problem installing this mod. I edited the 3 batch files as indicated in the docs, run them without any error, created a quick TE in the ikaros theater with two f14-bs taking off from Iraklion, but when I enter the cockpit, I don’t have any clickable buttons and it looks like the “classic” made-up cockpit that was there before.
Do I need to select a specific jet type?
Thanks, Uwe
