Very impressive Shadowblade, funny thing is I was just about to mention after reading the blurred images comments if anyone had tried downsampling, seems on the way to be becoming the norm these days to the point some screenshot threads on ‘trendy’:D gaming sites are almost all downsampled, haven’t tried it yet myself but I was thinking about it, hows the performance with BMS and other stuff you tried it with?
It’s very jerky, at times it can dip to as low as 2fps and becomes unplayable. The controls are funny too. It’s hard to describe but if you want to move your aircraft, you need to hold the direction on the joystick for each successive frame drawn onscreen rather than move the joystick independently, say nudge it momentarily in the direction you want to go and wait for the computer to catch up to draw that frame. Don’t think about ramp starting, ha. Higher altitudes it picks up framerate a bit. At lower resolutions closer to 1080p it’s faster but the visual fidelity goes down so it might as well go to 1080p with AA instead. Older games like Resident Evil 5 or Half-life 2 etc gave around 20-30fps. KSP didn’t like it, went CTD. I tried Arma 3, the PC was about to have a meltdown. Suffice to say it looked amazing. Apparently the 900 series are made to specifically handle the higher resolutions and downsampling easier. I have 500 series card
I forgot to add, the only mod with the game was Nuno’s clouds
For a laugh, here’s BMS at 640x480. The pit in unreadable, but it still looks amazing

Hmmm, I’d have no chance with this, I’ve got a Radeon 7770 and although there is a device for doing it with AMD cards, mine 'aint good enough, although instead of cranking it up to 4k I was only thinking of going to something like 2650 x 1440 but if it’s not really noticeable in terms of sharpness and quality there’s no point, I think most people seem to be doing it just for screenshot purposes now and again they don’t actually play a whole game at that res unless they’ve got a specific new range card that you mentioned.

You’re right Slains. But give it a try. I think the downsampling post processing effect is what kills any chance of smooth frames for now (it’s new to lower endcards so most likely not optimized yet, i’m sure they could squeeze a few extra fps) not the actual rendering at 4K. BMS at 4K with a UHD monitor (no downsampling needed) would be unreal

What happened to your rudder?
-
… too accustomed to hear that one must not use the rudder in flight, so he has unmounted it to save weight and drag.

Now that was close…
