TGP loadout doesn't get saved in quicksave
-
Bug?
-
Load a targeting pod during your mission planning (regardless or wether you take on GBUs or not)
-
take off
-
quicksave via “campaign quicksave” keyboard shortcut (mapped to Ctrl-S in my case)
-
exit the mission
-
reload the mission from the “saved” tab
-
TGP is gone (MFD page is blank, external view shows now tgp, either)
cheers, Uwe

AFAIK, as soon you begin in the air no TGP is loaded by default, or you have GBU’s loaded.
I do not know if this can be “corrected”, maybe in that way that TGP is loaded by default, what IMHO makes sence. Would be nice… -
Its a known bug indeed. Especially annoying, I agree
-
I wouldn’t call it a bug,
If you want to save a mission to fly again, set up waypoints & weapons and then do a “Save-Day”
If you want to save the campaign state a quick save will do.
Not every thing is a bug. There are just particular ways of doing things to achieve a specific outcome.

Just because there is a workaround, does not diminish the existence of unintended behavior.
The TGP thing does persist regardless of what type of save you make.
-
The TGP is tied to the presence of LGBs. If you make a loadout without LGBs and with a TGP, that’s fine. But if you go into loadout it will automatically deselect the TGP, even if the flight is airborne. You have to be very careful and use several tricks to keep the TGP on the plane if LGBs are not part of the loadout.

I would not call this unintended behavior LOL
TGP independant loading could not be saved as it is without breaking Tacedit who was the only tool available at 4.32 release.
So this “bug” was intentionnal to avoid a bigger bug.
Changing this is much much more complicated that it seems it means include tgp loading as a weapon loading….
-
… and (IIRC) the quick-save feature was mainly made to save a campaign status no really to save a flight status.
-
IT IS a bug. Un-necessary, and un-wanted behavior.

I would point you to my pics thread, and specially to the weapons loading ones.

It is not an un-wanted behavior Raptor. We’ve made the choice to make it work like this.

Hi my friend DJ,
Firstly, as I remember this behavior was there since ages, so nothing to do with bms work, it was just inherited from the past.
Second, where bms comes in, as I see it the devs did not touch this behavior through code up to now, although tons of reports of this (unwanted from the end-users) feature-behavior, in their garbage wish lists.
So except I understand it wrong, your last sentence should be more like “We’ve made the choice to leave it work like this.”
Please allow me to state once more my personal opinion. The PODs (TGP / NVP / HTS) should be independently available for loading, even without GBU’s / GPS munitions loaded, or even with 0 weapons loaded. A small code update should be able to allow “memory” of this status after mission saving / reloading, or starting to the air and not from ramp.
Can you please analyze to me why you made up such a decision? (except of course that you are free to do what you want to this tittle, I am following you on this).

Would have to agree, that it would be great if we had more control over what was loaded on the jet. Specifying the 5L and 5R stations stores as part of the loadout for example. Gun rounds loaded, flare buckets loaded, etc…
-
Me too. Once I’ve decided to burden my aircraft with the TGP, then continue to press “quicksave” during a flight, I’d very much expect to my loadout to be restored like it was before.
All the best,
Uwe
