My own X65-F configuration.

Looks good at first sight.
I have X52Pro so I have the advantage of the ‘shift’ button so I won’t comment on extra’s.I see you have the radar cursor on the lower switch, I prefer mine closer to the top, what you use for airbrakes, because I use it very often and it seems more practical.
Also, what you use for missile search spot, I use as TeamSpeak clutch. Purely personal I think.I can use shift key on X65-F too. You can define any key on the joystick to work as shift key.

@mAXpOWER:
HeXx, I had the same setup on the stick as you but encountered a problem with the location of the TMS and pickle button, with the sidewinder you don’t need to pickle and hold to fire, it release instantly on press, so when I was doing TMS up I accidentally pressed the pickle button and swoosh there it goes, what I did was that I changed the trim and TMS with each-others mapping, then I used the tool and changed place on the buttons physically to suit my preference.
IMO the pickle button should have been located over the TMS switch.Cheers
You are right on the position of the pickle button, It does not bother me dough.

I am using ZELEGEND’s x65-F Conf… really good. You should check it out and modify it as necessary. Did you also create a bms.key file?
-
I loaded the bms.key file that came with BMS and defined the HOTAS keys trough BMS, the only buttons I had to configure trough saitek programming software were the mode switch and wheel brakes.
-

That’s good to know.
-
You can use the axis mod to get the “mouse mini stick” to work as a analog control of the cursor if you want. Its a regfix so use at your own risk but : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=63794 link if wanted for the little trick.
Reason its needed is something with not enough axis supported in windows or bms i cant even remember anymore.

Here is my SST profile and Falcon.key file for my above configuration.
-
that ones not too bad, just the names are messed up is all. DirectX only supports 8 axis per joystick controller. 3 on the stick, 6 on the throttle. one too many. you lose the rudder with that mod, but it screws the names of each axis. mildly irritating, although you can fix it fairly easily.

I have been questioned how i setup my modes switch to work with MRM/NAV/DGF modes.
I will post here my answer in case it can be of any help. For that to work you must use saitek software.
Lets say you load your profile in the saitek software, you must delete all modes from the list just leaving mode 1. then make it “Fall Back” option marked.
After scroll down to the modes programing area and depending on the config of your falcon make it like, when mode 2 press and depress M and it will activate MRM mode. if mode 3 it will press and depress C and will go to NAV/Cancel Mode. if mode 4 It will press and depress D and enter in DGF mode.
Kepp in mind that you have to start the game with the mode 3 selected (Normal/NAV).You can also change the conf file to use set g_bHotasDgftSelfCancel 1 instead of set g_bHotasDgftSelfCancel 0.
in this way you can set mode 2 to continually press M and mode 4 to continually press D. If your mode switch is of mode 2 or 4 it will auto cancel dogfight/mrm mode.Hopefully be of any help.

Hello everyone,
I am just wondering. Did anyone find an easy way to hack the x65f to have the small movement deadzone like in the real F16 sidestick? Thanks.
-
Well, the real stick has no response deadzone - any force applies a signal.
It has a small movement area where the stick can move, and the movement does apply a signal.
I had no luck on mine unfortunately.
-
My A button is intermittent now, anyone else?
-
Yea thats what i meant to say. i wanted to have that small movement area on the stick before starting to roll/pitch.
Would be awesome if someone figured how to mod the stick. -

Sorry but never had a problem with my hotas fortunately.
Try some contact spray on that switch or try to replace it.Im wondering why saitek drooped the X65F…

-
Its quite strange, i live on a island and we usually have 80-90% relative humidity all year so things tend to oxidize quite quickly, but my hotas is still perfect and i own it for 3 years now

Would be awesome if someone figured how to mod the stick.Right, thats NOT the way the real one works. It has no response deadzone. It has a small zone where the stick can move around, and the stick still commands inputs in that zone.
If you want a small movement zone, then just put the base of the stick on velcro.

Please leave some suggestions/comments on what you think about this configuration.
PS: Don’t laugh of my paint skills
Very nice, and pretty much what I’m doing, except…how to you make the mode switch a 4 way button?
