Nordic Theatre 1.0 BMS 4.33

check out the Havocs look a bit cooler.

For folks following this thread, judging by the postings/reports, I think folks may not realize the whole point of Nordic Theater; to offer something besides the same F-16, F22, F-15, and F-18, to fly though they are there too. A lot of time was spent trying to bring you theater specific a/c and new/different a/c and pits to fly. This theater showcases the Gripen, Draken, F-104G, Jan Has Phantom (F-4D), Thoarak Phantoms (F-4B/E/F (two types)/G/J/N and two types of British FGR-2 Phantoms, three variants of the BAC Lightning, and another Eurofigthter. The F-22 is nice add-on but you ought to check out the Su-47 Berkut, and PAK-FA as well as some pretty nice Flanker variants all with some nice 3dpits . . . I would like to encourage pilots to check out some a/c perhaps out of your comfort zone . . . hehehe. Some of the a/c are actually pretty nice models but just lack an updated high resolution skin. You can get an idea of what I talking about by looking at other new models like the two variants of the F-5A in the Norwegian AF which have a high-resolution skin for 4 squadrons with and without wingtanks, as well the the three F-35 Lightning variants (one with VTOL). So, please explore and more importantly, give us your feedback, bug reports, recommendations and some screenies.

The release needs a “new features” introduction in first post.

Thanks for the suggestion Ranger perhaps later but right now I’ll stick to the trusty F-16.

Nordic -cold war, The Brink cam… Blue win on Day 4 1045.

Did you have to manually order any gu around?

Did you have to manually order any gu around?
Minimal. The key objectives are captured by AI GU.
I ordered few GUs to capture nearby enemy airbases, to help reducing red air power. -
this should be the default theater. Amazing work. Expansion of the roster is a great achievement.

I think Nordic has a long way to go to reach a level on par with Korea. Korea is a very mature theater with a very talented group of devs. Some things are not easily recognized because they are a bit below the surface in some cases. The creators of the original Falcon would surely be impressed with some of the things that have been done with flight models for example and the kind of accuracy with the F-16 being represented. From my perspective there is a real passion for excellence for a flight. So, everyone benefits from that. Also, it is reasonable to expect some pretty neat stuff with 4.34 considering where Falcon 4.0 started from back in the 90’s. I hope folks will continue to contribute to this long lived sim . . . things will only get better over time.

This is a great start for a theater, as falcon has been developed in the years each small thing or big thing inside falcon can be developed and let it run better in the future. I was sure that you, Tony, and all the theater developers could do a awesome work and you did. Fixes and details come with the time.
Cheers

Like everything made theater wise, not perfect the first time around, with the theater out in public a lot of reports will flow in and from that, the future versions will get better and better. Keep walking guys

is there a way to remove the pilot models?
-
which pilot models? If it is an LOD in the DB, I would say most likely yes - but I must warn you, that leads to the dark side . . . development, hehehe.
-
I am initiated into the dark arts. Not critiquing your work, not at all, but I simply find ALL pilot models, in any software distracting. It is a preference.

Just flew my first F-22 Mission in Nordic……6 missile kills…this aircraft is INSANE!!!

Guys, sorry I’m so late to the party. I just scrolled back to the first post in this forum…hard to believe more than 5 years has gone by.
I am just now downloading the theater and hope to install sometime this week. I haven’t flown much Falcon over the last year or so.
I’d also like to throw a shout out, whether it’s in the theater docs or not, to Khronik. The original raw files were hosted on this fellas site, I simply cannot remember his name anymore (edit: Fafa), but before he shut it down I downloaded almost everything he had hosted, including some raw files for this theater that started this whole process. Those files were from a REALLY long time ago, like 2002 or something, to give you an idea of how long this theater took to come to fruition.
Khronik was the one that took some obscure zip file, and was actually able to make it into something Falcon could use. If not for him, this theater would never have even been started I suspect.
Having said that, once Tom, Chuckles, Cloud, and Ranger took it over, there was never really any doubt how it would turn out. True developers…my hat is off to you all.

Edit: I love Google…I got this theater from Fafa’s old website.~~

Nordic cold war - Soviet bear cam, blue wins on Day 3 1005.
AI GU captured key objectives, no human intervention. -
Made a quick airbase map to reference on the second screen
-
thanks to two generous volunteers, the base coords are corrected and the radio and ILS are going to be based on real life where possible in next update. and Optand will be missing due to its location. WDP and weather should work without a hitch.

Going to find out if the carrier can be destroyed 100+ cruise missiles
Too bad CIWS isn’t modeled
