Aircraft have two white lights on wingtips when coming into visual range.

I’m flying Balkans and I started flying at night and I am noticing that every A/C has two very bright lights on their wingtips until they get very close, about 5 miles. I have flown Balkans at night many times before and never noticed this. The only changes have been updated drivers and the update for Balkans. My settings are all the same. Has anyone else seen this or know what could be going on?

You’ll see them during daylight too.

Yep, I’ve seen those too. At night you might consider them something of a “cheat” because you can clearly make out a plane a long distance away because of these two bright pixels until you get close.
I’ve been wondering if that’s a bug as well or a feature, maybe a LOD issue on the plane models?
I’ve also noted those bright dots in other theaters too so it’s not a Balkans issue.
All the best, Uwe

This is an issue with the LOD of the F-16. I assume you are running with the alternate update. This happens in Korea too. Nothing I can do about it right now.

That is what I suspected. I am running the standard update. I wanted to make sure before I spent hours testing on my end. Thanks all.

Thanks to you instead, Viking, for having pointed this out - I too had noticed it, but I thought it had to be a feature for safe standard navigation at night.
With best regards,
