Thank you! What is your passion to see happen? I am not sure I understand…
A Family of SU-27/30 with decent Models and a reasonable AFM.
Its a long thread. And was side tracked by a group member introducing a “stolen model” into the project. https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?8453-Su-flight-model-please
So I look forward to flying RED again.

I watched the first clip above.
@ Radium. This an early recording of the FM I was putting together for the SU family around 2013.
I later converted it into a AFM. But that’s water under the bridge.
Yes the video is rough.
Another early test flight.
And a bit of fun stuff.

Hello,
One page ago, I announced that next one will be Sukhoi Su-35, so, yes!

I feel like JP is going to do some magic here

@Switch:
I feel like JP is going to do some magic here
I certainly hope so, cause I.m looking forward to toasting those whining Yanks in their metro F-16s & pansy F-22.

in that case, better not taking a russian AC…

Thank you Shadow it is indeed interesting to see your work.
The true beast.

Yes well !
Single engine aircraft are OK when you country is the size of a cattle stations.
We need dual nozzles & long beaches.

Unfortunately some one committed us the the idiocy of purchasing F-35, but I didn’t want to raise that subject here.
That’s all I have to say about that.

Tempting to take up child hobbies again.
Except the eyes arn’t that good now.

Hello,
Many of you might wonder why it has been so long time I haven’t updated.
Honestly, I had a lot of issues with my 2011 computer I use now which will soon be passed away.
For this reason, I ordered a new computer, I will receive it on tuesday.
Also, uvw template is getting extremely complex. It seems that my 2011 3.2ghz i3 CPU can’t handle it anymore.
Final map will be 4096*4096.
To share a glimpse of how does it looks, here is my map :
Still many parts I am not happy with. It’s getting such pain in the back to work with my PC, I think I will wait for the new one to continue.
Best regards,
Radium

I hope it will be all you expected.
And I pray for a blessed Christmas to you and your family.
Regards…Shad
PS: Did you stick with Intel or take advantage of a well priced 6core AMD Ryzen ?
-
Thank you very much Shadow.
My new CPU will be Intel I5 7400 3-3.5ghz.
I didn’t had so good experience in the past with AMD products so, I had been rather conservative here: Intel i5 7400 + GTX1070.
Thank you!

I had a great ride with AMD for about 10 years up till 2013 when Intel dropped their pricing due to AMDs success with their Athlon’s and finally Phenom IIs
At that time (I was due for upgrade) a Intel i5 3570k @3.4Ghz was the smart way to go as AMD had fallen behind again. It served very well up-to this year when the mother board had become unstable (the problems were hard to pinpoint).
My last AMD rig, a AMD Phenom II 940be @ 3.7Ghz is still going strong for my grandson (12year old) the only thing they replaced was the GPU, a recent upgrade.
Now I’m on a AMD Ryzen5 1600 and am very happy. And I expect a good 4/5 years out of it.
So it should serve you well……Cheers

Shadow depends for what you need it.
Working with 3d and gfx becomes so demanding some times that even the slightest drawback kicks your nerves.
Some times you could be cought in some situations that needs the edge far, and has room to do what u want.
I believe AMD are not that popular among such users 3D and gfx. I’ve read of some issues where the CPU was the reason, pointing AMD.
But the main issue is that those apps are better optimized for the Wintel combo.
I do love amd and when I was in distribution I influenced half Greece to toss Intel and go the amd way, it was the right choice and many benefited from it. Unfortunately int Monopoly t came hard on it.
This among other things left amd a bit behind. I still don’t see the horsepower benefit of AMD against Intel for this category of users. And maybe in wrong but they changed badly and their price ratio compared to Intel.Στάλθηκε από το MI 5 μου χρησιμοποιώντας Tapatalk

On my side, it’s rather simple :
I have nothing against anybody.
I know that Windows + Intel + NVidia give very stable results. This is what I am interested in.
I was happy with this trio for very long time. I have no reason to change that!

Arty as tests show any multi thread aware program has a advantage on these new 6/8 core Ryzens and all the Rendering software seems to benefit. Especially the cheaper 1600 model.
And yes Intel has been dominant for so long its only natural apps will be optimized with lintel as the beneficiary.
This seem to some up a bit of quick research:
"If you’re using Octane for your export rendering, a many-core CPU doesn’t really benefit you as much as you might think. The interactive/modeling performance in your viewports is primarily dictated by single threaded performance. A 7700K clocked at 5GHZ will offer up to 30% better performance in viewports than a Ryzen chip clocked at 4GHZ. InDesign/Photoshop/Illustrator are also apt to scale better with core performance than core count.
Trust me I’m all on board with the Ryzen Revolution, More good cores for the masses is very appealing, especially in that i5 price point. If you’re aiming for that i5 price territory, I’d lean towards the 1600/X for sure as it is better suited to running lots of apps all at once. I’m sure it would work fine for you, however, if you’re in the 1700 price territory, the 7700K might actually be better for your applications and workflow, unless Adobe gets their act together and improves the parallelism of some of their productivity software. " https://pcpartpicker.com/forums/topic/220695-ryzen-vs-intel-for-3d-octane-render-motion-graphics
However AnandTech reports thus: https://www.anandtech.com/show/11170/the-amd-zen-and-ryzen-7-review-a-deep-dive-on-1800x-1700x-and-1700/18
Time will tell.

Well nice one but as always the magazines or sites are good but the word of mouth on the forums is way better and more reliable. Cause there u see actual modelers and gfx designers posts and results.
I don’t have any feedback on the new AMD’s I’m talking about the previous generation some years ago.One thing that can surely benefit 3d rendering are the new engines that use VGA instead of the CPU (and is way faster on new GPU’s). This will benefit greatly the AMD in case there are issues. But the price will be worst on them. why buy amd and 2 or 3 or 4 vga’s and not i7 with just 2 or even one vga’s.
It’s overall performance and price. As I told I wish AMD has reached and passed that point and is way better on this area. this would mean also that for us BMS users the transition should be made. We very much are on the same side specially for those of us that use such dev tools.
Only if they could just drop memory prices… they are still high for my pocket and would love to go 32…
