Okay, I'm confused…
-
I have the Saitek X-52 Pro, and for now, it fits my needs. Do I need to download new drivers and SST software for Windows 10 64 bit? I’ve tried Mr. Founder’s profile, but it’s not working as I believe it should. Went for a spin in Instant Action, and had no weapons…
Another thing, does one always inter the pit in the 3d world?
TIA

In case you (Or anyone) needs help with the Axis manipulation and activating the MiniStick for the X-52 Pro:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\0] @="X" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,30,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\1] @="Y" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,31,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\2] @="Throttle" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,32,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\3] @="Ministick X" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,05,00,24,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\4] @="Ministick Y" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,05,00,26,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\7] @="Slider" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,36,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\6] @="Rudder" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,35,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\5] @="Rotary small" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,33,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_06A3&PID_0762\Axes\8] @="Rotary big" "Attributes"=hex:01,81,00,00,01,00,34,00
That needs to pasted into notepad and saved with a .REG extension. That will adjust the Axis assignments in your Registry for the X-52 Pro. You only get to use Axes 0-7, so you can change which Axis you DON’T have available by changing the number at the end of the line to 8, and replacing the ‘8’ in the last entry with the other one. For instance, if you wanted to keep the Big Rotary and not use the Twist Rudder, you would change the part that says “\Axes\8” to “\Axes\6” and vice versa. Whichever one has the “Axes\8” at the end will not work in BMS.

NOTE: If you have trouble using the Mode Rotary in the game, it helps to leave the Control Panel->Game Controller->Properties window open in the background. Also make sure to disable “Clutch” function in the properties window.
NOTE 2: When using the keyfile posted above, I configure the following in the Setup->Controllers->Advanced area: Small rotary for Radar Elevation, Twist for Rudder, Slider as Range Knob, MiniStick X/Y for cursor X/Y (Y needs to be inverted)

You should not need ‘new’ drivers or SST. With that particular profile (Flounders) there are only 2 functions using SST. 1.) the nub for cursor slewing uses axis bands in SST, and 2.) a PTT key for Teamspeak.
But, I agree with Morte …. dump the twist rudder (you don’t really need a twist rudder) and disable that axis. Use the empty axis space for the x/y cursor axis instead.
As far as the PTT in Teamspeak, in Options, don’t choose “Keyboard and Mouse Only” and assign the PTT directly in Teamspeak (if you need it).
Now you don’t need SST at all, just the basic X52 Pro driver.

Hi, how are you
I have X52 PRO, uninstalled Logitech SST and magic mouse.
I changed the registry key windows 7, with script downloaded on the Blu3Wolf site for my device, where I override the torsion axis of the joystick, to create axis X and Y mini stick.
Look at these screenshots, I think the mini stick shaft was created !!!
MorteSil provided me this usable key file without SST of your post, how to implement this code, which is DX ???
Need to invert the axis ???
Is it in the Key file editor(EXCEL) ???
How to make ???
Thank you !!!
Look at the values in the screenshots of the WINDOWS registry, is that right ???

Invert the axis in your second screen capture where it says revers for the Y Axis. The DX commands have to be copied into the bottom of .KEY file in your /User/Config folder that you are using. You will have to determine where the DX commands start and overwrite them with the new ones.
how to do this
I have rudder and pedals CH -
@Agave, I prefer to keep the rudder actually. I like it for NWS as opposed to roll-linked, and I fly a lot of other aircraft where the rudder is less useless. For most though, it makes sense. I ditched radar range from the large rotary and slaved it to discrete increase/decrease on one of the stick toggle buttons. I tried with that last go of changes to align common things to specific areas, especially in shifted vs unshifted states. Hence the TMS being moved to the throttle where I could use only 2 buttons to facilitate U/D and L/R. L/R is used so rarely, I couldn’t justify eating the Hat switch for it. And it’s nice to have the TMS Up so close to the cursor on the same hand. Actually feels really natural, I was a little surprised at first how easy it was to adjust not having TMS functions on the stick.
I deleted the joystick rudder, disabled !!!

From what I’ve been reading. The SST isn’t recommended. I haven’t tried it for this reason. Yet don’t quite understand why using Founders profile….I don’t even hae guns.

…just need to know if this is normal.

Have you setup your stick in Falcon/BMS Setup/controlers pages ?
ANd “Instant Action” does mean instant action :bdance:

Yes.

SO what does “had no weapons” mean
Did you look out the canopy at out wings?

Yeah, fair enough.
My ‘losing’ the twist rudder axis was driven by acquiring a Warthog stick (w/X52 Pro throttle) …. no twist rudder available. So I didn’t need the X52 HOTAS ‘rudder axis space’ in the reg files. Swapped in the cursor x/y and haven’t looked back.

I can assure you it is not normal (assuming weapons loaded, master arm on, etc., etc.).
BTW, it’s “Flounder” … as in:
“Fat, Drunk and Stupid is no way to go through life son.”
To check device order, find the file: x:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\User\Config\DeviceSorting.txt and make sure the X52 Pro HOTAS is first in the list (edit in any plain text editor, like Notepad).
Flounder’s profile is made for the X52 Pro to be the first device. Also, if this the issue, your HOTAS keypress will likely be doing thing you don’t expect, or, possibly, not responding at all ….either in game or in the setup UI.
