Turn on ILS?
-
Falcon BMs 4.33_U1
Hello guys. Try to land on Kunsan RW 18 with an ILS approach. In range for the ILS (10 NM out) of Kunsan and everything set fine for the ILS, but the ILS in the DED stays on Off.
–--------------------------------------------
Setup DED:
T/A NAV
TACAN: X75
ILS Freq: 110.30
ILS Course: 176
Band X (0)
TACAN turning knob to: ILS/NAV and/or ILS/TCN
Still, the ILS in the DED shows Off and no ILS symbology in the HUD is available.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Was the ILS turned on?
AUDIO 2 panel, ILS knob. See T.O. BMS1F-16CM-1 page 22.
“Unlike BMS 4.32 where the ILS was always on the pilot now needs to power the ILS to be able to see ILS symbology.”

Thank you, Darkman. Appreciated!

In Falcon BMs 4.35_1 when attempting Training mission 4 (Night landing), the ILS knob on Audio panel 2 shows “NC”(?) and there are multiple increments when dialling this knob. It is not an on or off knob.
Whatever position I turn the knob, no ILS symbology in the HUD.

Make sure you have all these:
- C&I on UFC.
- ILS volume knob out of OFF position (anything else should do).
- HSI selected to PLS-NAV or PLS-TCN.
- On the ICP 1 T-ILS page:
- the correct ILS frequency (110.300 for Kunsan RWY 36) tuned in.
- the correct course for the ILS localizer (356° for Kunsan RWY 36) set.
- if on PLS-TCN on HSI, the correct TCN channel for Kunsan (075X for Kunsan) set.
- if on PLS-NAV on HSI, the home airport steerpoint selected as the active steerpoint on the DED.
Kunsan RWY 36 ILS worked just fine for me on 4.35.1 on said training mission. For more details, please see BMS\Docs\BMS-Training.pdf, pp. 51.

I tried many times, but nope - nothing works.
Perhaps in settings?

No ideas. I think you will have to share a screenshot. When you do, be sure to include the ADI (artificial horizon) ball … does it show yellow ILS bars … or, any red/yellow warning flags?

Solved- it was the mode override switch on my Saitek X52 stick.
Thanks for all your help

sometimes you need to go “around the horn” a few times, or climb, while you toggle modes on the HSI to get the taccan to track.
