Is transition altitude used in war?
-
Hi guys,
I have a question that i hope guys with RL experience van shed some light on.
Is transition altitude used in a theatre of war? I seem to remember in military aviantion you get the the alt settings on a uhf switch. (Or use briefed qnh)
I understand that military aircraft flying in civilian airspace will of course use the transition altitudes. That’s not what i mean
Thanks in advance!

Long story short, in operation, in order to have a common reference but still having an altimeter giving a relevant information of altitude above terrain/obstacle, it is the “Force QNH” (lowest QNH in the area of interest) which is in use.
