Hard point selection using Laser (lazer) guided bombs
-
So I can choose which hard point to fire/drop from first on lots of different ordinance type, EXCEPT Laser guided GBU’s … what would that be ???

Nothing like a bomb has that kind of control. Maverick, HARM, AAM does. To get out of normal order release you’d have to get into the SMS INV system and remove it for inventory which Falcon doesn’t model. There’s no real practical reason to do what you’re asking anyway.

Balance weight on wings, maybe. If you have a 120 missing somewhere, you may want to drop from the other wing first.

Only tested with GBU-31 and GBU-54, but I dare say it’s a general rule for JDAM that you can switch between pylons.
One reason why you would want to drop from a certain wing first with LGB, especially heavier ones, could be to expedite the turn away from attack heading. E.g. TGP is on the right hand side, so standard operating procedure is: Paveway, kick 40° left => easier if you drop right first, and let the weight imbalance by the remaining bomb pull your left wing down. That’s a lot easier than having to “fight against” the dropping wing.

“There’s no real practical reason to do what you’re asking anyway.” - really !!!
What if you are trying to avoid AAA on your right side and thus want to turn left off target would it not be a good idea to drop the right hand hard point first so the asymmetric load helps with the roll to the left and thus avoid the AAA whilst maintain a good “sight” for the laser onto the target ???
As already stated you can select JDAMs and JSOWS hard points so my question still stands why not make Laser guided bomb hard point selectable? is this a BMS thing or a real life thing?

RL thing.
It makes sense for weapons that can report a failure to the SMS - so if there is a degraded status on one bomb, the pilot can switch to another, just like AA missiles.
For dumb bombs, I suppose it was deemed irrelevant to select station, as you cannot know which one is in a degraded state and you are likely to drop them all at the same time anyway.
Seeing that LBG do not report failures to the SMS and are treated as dumb bombs anyway… they follow the same logic a dumb bombs.

If it’s a RL thing I can live with it …. many thanks.
