LANTIRN on the Block 40 Viper
-
Greetings all,
I have been flying the Block 50 USAF common Viper almost exclusively for months and would like a go with the LANTIRN-equipped F-16C Bock 40/42.
I have been playing the “Tough KTO” campaign and have the Mission-Commander add-on 3rd party software. I have a Block 42 F-16C squadron at Osan currently. I went into the ordnance inventory in Mission Commander and allocated 25 AN/AAQ-13 nav pods and 25 AN/AAQ-14 targeting pods to the squadron. I selected a night mission but the pods are not available in-game. Is the block 42 not capable of flying with LANTIRN in 4.33 currently? I know there is a training mission with export Korean F-16Cs that have TFR capability. How can I get LANTIRN on my block 40/42 birds?
Thanks all.

You have LANTIRN in block 42 and Sniper in block 40 in BMS currently.

Lorik, is it the 42 that carries the Harpoon or other BLK?
-
Well I don’t. I have even gone into the data files to make certain that the 42 is “allowed” to have the LANTIRN pods. Why are they not showing up as something usable in game? Is it because it is the Strong Korean campaign?
-
Not sure what you meant cobrabase. I can use the LANTIRN on block 42 in any vanilla theater, as far as I remember. There is no 42 in vanilla campaigns though, if I remember correctly.
EDIT: Correction, there’s one, but not in Osan.

Thanks Lorik, and we’re talking the AGM 84-harpoon, not LANTIRN, right?
For the block list, yes.
Edit: that’s what happens when someone off-topics

Using Mission Commander I can change aircraft types in campaigns. I’ll try it in the conventional campaign.
