LOD EDITOR

Seems like Lod Editor 6.23 does not work with 4.34. Any quick fix ?
Thanks

This will be a nice tool for all the 3d modelers i guess! and desperately needed!

Hi!
Before starting to mod your install, it would be a good idea to run it for a while in vanilla mod and check if you have no issues with stock database/3DDB/files.
If everyone mod their installs right at the beginning … do not count on tech support nor hope for bug fix.To answer the question (for 3rd party Dev):
Lod Editor is nearly dead.
As long as 3DDB (KoreaObj.LOD) remains below 2GB (yes because now it is possible to go over 2GB!) … you can still use it.
Once you will be over 2GB … you will have to use the new version 3DDBbuilder able to manage more addresses … and from that point, Lod Editor won’t be able to open .HDR anymore. You will still be able to open a single lod, but no more access to the global KoreaObj.LOD nor to textures indexes … etc …Last but not least … to be able to use LodEditor, you have to convert your XML database into old binary database because Lod Editor can’t read .xml data files.
To do it … in your Faclon BMS.cfg:
set g_bSaveLegacyDb 1 // Synchronize the bin files to match the xml files when the game/editor is started
Then open Editor or launch the game to make the .xlm recreated into .binary files. They won’t be used by the game, but LodEditor needs the binary files format.
As said … LE can’t read the XML DB, files has to be converted into legagy binary mode:
…
Not at all. A simple batch with folder definition file can do the job in one single click. One for extraction, one for build.
Note that as long as 3DDB is <2GB there no obligation to use 3DDB builder to extract the 3DDB. Only the XML > BIN conversion of the DB is necessary.

yes I it extracted when i run it as administrator the command prompt window flashes and goes away.
currently lost on extracting a model geometry. I was able you use JanHas tools so I assume they are all extracted now?
I see the following folders now:
LODs
Parents
Textures -
Yes they are.
You actually exported the 3d database contents to separate files.Use lodeditor 6.23.
If the database is large it will not open from lodeditor (LE).
U must convert the database to the old scheme.
Still if large it will not open.
For quickness i believe better install 4.33 then opening le you can select the 4.33 Korea theater file to open from le. this is just to be able to run le.
Then you can load and view your model in le if you want to be sure the model is ok for falcon. The new way doesn’t use le for simple model and if you know what you do.
If you want to check switches and dof you use the lod viewer. From there press space bar and you can manually change dof and test switches to see if they work properly. Then using 3ddbuilder you rebuild your database for falcon.
Man all this sound very funny… But that’s what we call the fight with the falcon monster.
