Korea '80s Theater

Excellent theater Molni!
Got badly surprised by one of those old migs when I saw tracers coming from my 6. So used to the electronic battlefield and our all-seeing RWR!! Thankfully I didn’t get hit and I can still look in the mirror
Great job mate

I am trying to install this mod. The installer creates the “unpack” file and places the “package.src” in it but I then get an error “7zip cannot find the code that works with archives” What am I doing wrong?
Same here, i also get: “An error has occured. Please verify H:\72nd\unpack\package.src”
I tried all the things suggested in this thread, nothing worked. I run Win7/64
EDIT: I wonder if the download is corrupt, can somebody confirm that:
The filesize of the zip is: 599 MB (628.504.195 Bytes) (599 MB (628.506.624 Bytes) on harddisk)
and after extracting: 599 MB (628.504.025 Bytes) (599 MB (628.506.624 Bytes) on harddisk)

YMMV… but I had this problem too. My install method was to open the zipped folder, extract the installer to my desktop, then when I tried to run the installer, it created two folders, one on the desktop (where it was) and one in my falcon install. then, it came back with the error about unpacking.
I then opened 7zip, and navigated to the desktop, and extracted the contents of the installer to another folder on the desktop. It contained a single folder entitled Add-On-Korea-80. Inside that folder, were the Art, Campaign, Extras, korea, objects, and post folders - as well as a .tdf and a .tga file.
I created a new folder in my falcon install, /Data/Add-On-Korea-80, and copied all the files and folders from the installer, to that location. The post folder contains two subfolders, Art and sim. I figured the sim folder contains the stuff meant to replace the contents of your /Data/Sim folder, so I made a copy of my /Data/Sim folder and then deleted it, and then moved the sim folder in the post folder, to the /Data/Sim location.
That left the Art folder from inside the post folder. I wasnt sure where it was supposed to go, or why it was made separate from the regular Art folder, so I just added its contents to the /Data/Add-On-Korea-80/Art folder.
I then edited the theater.lst file at C:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Terrdata\theaterdefinition, to add the following line:
Add-On-Korea-80/Korea80.tdfI then booted it up and had a campaign flight. Got shot down, too.

@Molni:
That the data/sim folder has unique content with your install is explained in the .pdf file and thus it is easy for me to create a data/sim-original copy of the sim-folder in case i want to use main theaters without deinstalling your theater, BUT
i can see a : I:\Falcon BMS 4.32\Data\Add-On-Korea-80\Backup\Art aswell.
Does that mean those files supposidly backed up by the installer have been changed aswell in my BMS art folder???
PS: If i find time i will F4browse your DB … curious what you did there

Number 2 SQN out of Kunsan in the rolling Fire campaign fly F-16C-42s… but for me they also have AGM-88s available. Is this intentional?
EDIT: Ive also not got block 40 HUD flying the aforementioned block 42s. Guess that means that my install method didnt work correctly. Sigh…
-
Thanks a lot Blu3wolf, that did it, took a long time to figure out exactly how though! These extra folders never showed on my other drive, it apparently had to be C:\ or desktop, Windows moves in mysterious ways…
Now i finally can go at it in the 80´s WVR arena i have been dreaming off…

I think i have that old gun bug from 4.32.1 or so, my gun is firing AK-47 rounds. Now this might be due to my bogus installation here, but maybe not. Can somebody please hop into a matchplay and tell me how the gun works on his end?

Great work Molni, good to see your hard work during many years finally pays off!
I’ve not installed it yet: if I read the release notes right, it would probably be best to start a clean, separate install?
-
Well Molni, you have finally made it so that I need a decent flare CM program. Cheers for that.
I also still havent landed in your theater yet, either. flown several missions though.

Re-inventing older tactics?

I mentioned /sim because is critical considering gameplay. Are some new pit in game. As I know in case models are missing in pit files simply the stock pits are used.

If you can do multiple Falcon installs your life is easier. I tested on clean and not clean BMS4 install too and worked in both cases. It is not surprising because only a very few files are shared what I added or changed.

Re-inventing older tactics?
If the older tactics are taking a ride on the silk slide to save from having to bother with complicated things like glideslopes, etc, then yeah sure.
On a related note - I think this is the first time Ive been shot down by a MANPAD.

Mission accomplished.

So Im still not getting the block 40 HUD for some reason… gonna test it out in a TE and see what happens.

Only the single seater has the cockpit maybe you selected in TE the two seater variant. During the last check I was surprised in TE “OMG where is the pit” then I discovered what I selected.

No, Ive definitely not got the cockpit. Im guessing it has to do with how I got the theater installed (copying the folders). Can anyone offer advice on how to get the installer to work? Do I need to do something special with the Art folder that was inside the post folder?

I have problem with enabling trees… I already have activated it as in pictures in extras folder but no joy. Any advice??

To all those having issues with unpacking or installing…
You may be missing a DLL to unpack 7z which should have been included in the installer resources.
I am taking a look right now as it may have been not included.
sby…

In the meantime, if you are having issues try installing 7z on your system it should fix the problem until I can correct the installer.

I did use 7z, no joy. I think in my DL zip the .src file is missing, i suppose my DL is corrupted or maybe my routers firewall is blocking parts of it…
Can somebody with a working version please try to bring up an alternative download link?
