TrackIR vs. Delanclip vs. EDTracker (for Win10 64bit)
-
+1 for delanclip

Okay.
Delanclip sounds good.
You said that both OpenTrack and FaceTrackNoIR are nice. Are there any preferences or differences between them?
I guess, www.delanengineering.com is the only shop or are there other (especially German) shops?
Also, do I need the “PS3 Camera - Mounting Clip”? I could build something to place the camera behind and above the screen. However, this would not prevent accidentally moving the camera. Thanks so far.

What about the Trackhat Clip? I’m using of these and I’m very satisfied with it. It’s 6 DOF and it works fine with OpenTrack.

I prefer opentrack - its still being worked on / updated and 2.3.10 (the latest stable) works very well for a ps3 eye and delanclip combo.
I use those 3m sticky velcro pads to secure my pre modded (by delanclip) ps3eye to the top of my monitor.;

Actually, I will rather get the Trackhat clip (https://www.trackhat.org/product-page/trackhat-clip-head-tracking-kit), because it is nearly identical to the Delanclip (same principle, same camera) and is cheaper for me.
It also looks better. No open wires on the clip and I like that it is 3d-printed. -
As for the tracking applications, I use both (ftnoir on win7, opentrack on Linux) and I’m rather happy with both
All the best, Uwe

I build a DIY Headtracker I think back in 2011 with a Track Cap with LED Ripped from a torch light, Microsoft VX1000 Webcam and Freetrack.
Started from Scratch as I got back to Falcon a few weeks ago.
3d printed Headset Clip with IR Lenses, PS3Eye Webcam. Software I tested were FreetrackNoIr and Opentrack. Wheras they both use Pointtracker as Input I found it more comfortable to Setup Opentrack to my needs.
Regarding the Webcam I didn’t really feel a difference in using my old MS VX-1000 at 30FPS versus PS3Eye at 75FPS (cant get it above). Especially with the Microsoft Webcam I hadn’t to remove IR Filter or add a Daylight filter. Just Setting the exposure all the way down was sufficent enought to stable recognize the IR Points even in a fully lighted room.

Includes links to resitor calculation to calculate for different input voltages. My own Remix of the clip linked above. As My Headphone is not straight I twisted the holder plate and the clip itself by 15°
