4.33 comm q

there is Nothing you can do but get the right frequency for the agency you want to talk to.
Just like in real lifeas said above, get in your doc folder and get the relevant docs version according to the bms version you fly.
4.33 hasd a training manual, abandon this old TE (converted from 4.32 if nor earlier - select the first few 4.33 training missions , hget the training manual. read the chapter, fly the relevant mission and that will clear your confusionYou’re obviously confused with steerpoint and frequencies, these have (as said above) Nothing to do with each other

I think I’m being misinterpreted here. Or I’m not getting across what Im trying to get at. Soooo……
Yes, I know the difference between steerpoint ( all other gps disciplines refer to as waypoints, but they’re all 2d, so I guess in the 3d world they’re steerpoints) and presets
My point about the preset was(and its a question not a statement), by setting preset 15 to tower in the Data cartridge and then I fly to Kunsan. By pressing preset 15, is that the tower freq of Kunsan. I will try this and see. Thanks for your help

the question is how do you assign preset 15?
there are multiple ways to do it, one of them is being through the UI and the DTC button.
Bottom line, using presets is fine, but you Always need to check what the preset is sets to. especially when you use different airbase in the same flight. As obviously preset 15 can be assigned to a single frequencyyou see what presets you are assigned to either in the DED in flight or at brief or DTC in the UI
presets don’t magically change from one airbase to another if you don’t use the same airbase for departure or landing
obviously, if departure and arrival airbase are the same, the preset 15 if correctly assigned will be usable in both case, and that’s probably 95% of the case for the BMS missions -

You really wan’t to understand how ot work? … forget about channels, works frequencies directly. (or read carefully what Red Dod wrote above ;))

wilco, I want to fly my own TE. I will set it up and test things. you’ve given me an idea. use preset 15 for tower, preset 16 for ground 17 for awacs, 18 for tanker I’m not flying 4.34 much so don’t know all the freq’s. is there a “center”? do awacs and tanker have their own freq? I know rtrfm.

Ok I think I understand your question. In your DTC when you click “set tower” the tower frequency for your departure airbase will be preloaded into whatever preset is selected. It will then say the name of the airbase frequency loaded. In your case Kunsan will be loaded into 15 and it will stay there until you manually change it. There is no center. AWACS and tankers have dedicated frequencies. They are listed in the briefing screen however I believe in 4.33 UHF 13 was tactical freq so you would get AWACS there. Normally the only preset you would change would be 15 to set tower. All other preset would be the default and they would coincide with the briefing.
