KTO campaign: Priorities
-
Hello everyone,
I am continuing to gain experience in this fantastic simulation world
I wanted to ask you, the settings of the priorities window, affect only our squadron, or the whole ATO?
How do you set those parameters? I’d like to leave everything at the HQ, and just think about doing my job, but sometimes I have doubts that doing so won’t win the campaign -
Just use mission commander (an invaluable tool) and add a sqdn of your favourite F-16s at a base of your liking and disable the “set by HQ” button for it.
You’ll then be able to plan your own packages with this squadron and you’ll never have to worry about “no planes available” if you minimize your losses.
If this feels like cheating feel free to add a MiG-XX or Su-YY sqdn for the red side as well (under HQ control).
Planning packages in a dynamic campi isn’t all that hard (good tutorials are available here), and I’d say it’s at least 50%, if not more, of enjoyment that BMS has in store for you.
All the best,
Uwe

Everything is set at HQ by default at the beginning of the campaigns, unless otherwise noted in the campaign description or related documents!
You can switch off/check setting for HQ for Target Type/Mission Type and PAKS in the Priorities tab. You can also switch off/check HQ for Squadrons in the Order of Battle screen by going to the specific Airbases by clicking on the Squadron plane icon to highlight it and clicking on the Info button. If the Set by HQ box is highlighted green, the HQ is running the show.
Whether you fly with the HQ running the show or you switching it off and taking control doesn’t determine if you win the campaign. You determine if you win/lose/draw depending on your performance and other factors of the side you are flying.
Good Luck,
C9

ok thanks
I still haven’t understood if the priorities impact on my squadron or on everyone?
If I set the priorities to attack the airbases, will this setting be for all the missions generated? or just for my squadron?another thing, i reach 150 points in my logbook, and i’m still a 2nd lt, i miss somethings? or is it right?

The priorities cover your entire team, Squadrons and Ground units.
Not sure why you didn’t get promoted!?

Lt : 150

C9 said it all, already. I’ll just add one thing: if you don’t know what you’re doing, of course, leaving Set by HQ on the priority screen is the thing to do. If you don’t know how to frag your own missions, same for your squadron.
When you are experienced, there are only downsides when leaving HQ frag things all by itself (except if you are that lazy at that time). Particularly, if the Infrastructure slider is not set all to 0 (left), the ATO will frag strikes on bridges and will probably slow your side’s progress. If you reduce it to 0, it won’t happen… but you’ll have to have a look at the priorities every now and then to adjust them. If you’re new to this, you’ll probably not want to try that straight on.

Ok, ty a lot Lorik
that’s probably what happened, because even if I have an excellent rate, I see that the border line between the two sides stays there over time
Now I have to buy a company that deals with bridges and rebuild themBTW I will make attempts only changing the priorities and leaving the creation of the missions to the HQ, and I try to see what happens
Next time I start a campaign I will be more careful to control everything that happens around me, not just in my squadron, in order to prevent the destruction of bridges useful to proceed with the troops@Lorik
I’m seeing so many times the videos of your youtube channel, to try to learn the possible
I wanted to ask you based on what your approach altitude to the target changes? In some video flights on the 18,000 in others on the 25,000, in others close to terrain about 300ft
obviously based on the threats that are in the area, but in more detail if you can give some examples, it would be of great help for my progress -
Thanks fiffinolmo.
It could be the question that requires the most of my time and attention when I’m planning a strike, so, I can hardly give a satisfying answer to that question. It first depends on the weather, as I tend to deny the use of “GPS-guided” bombs when I fly or design campaign mods; but fog can be a pain while flying low as well. Then, on the available weapons. Finally, on the threats I expect. The idea is to be able to deliver the gifts, and guide them if needed, with the least risk for the airframes. I first totally avoid area denial weapons (SA-10) during that operation. For the rest, I try to define the best angle and altitude for a quick and accurate delivery. It’s usually either high (18k and above) to avoid ManPADS and SHORADs, or low (as low as possible) to use the terrain as a mask and/or to have a better agility.

Many thanks @Lorik
now at least I have a course to go for my studiesCongratulations again for the channel, and for your skills, you are French I believe, but you speak English in a wonderful way, I saw the first videos and then gradually the most recent ones, you can see how you have improved over time, you have become a sacred monster , I almost hate you ahhahaha
You make me understand how much road there is to do, and the more I go forward the more things are opened up, it seems impossible
But I will try !!! thanks
