Precision Steerpoint Elevations?
-
Hello,
Shouldn’t the precision target STPTs (probably ID’s outside the ID range of your flight plan) assigned through the RECON window get the elevation data too? If we assign them now to, say, IDs ranging from 81-99, they don’t get elevations set, resulting in “-0” on DED STPT page for the elevation.
In my wing, we noticed this since we were training pop-up attacks to STPTs assigned to 81-99 through the RECON window. For these, the STPT diamond appeared way off the target despite the TDB appearing on the correct location. However, if the STPT elevation was set manually through the DED STPT page, the STPT diamond appeared on the right location too.
This happened at KOTAR range, which is somewhat high from the MSL. We didn’t test this on MSL or close to it.
System delta was removed by Cursor Zeroing.
An example of the STPT diamond being off. Note the STPT elevation on DED. Still, the TDB is spot on as shown by the target locator line.

Another example of the RECON-assigned STPT #99 with elevation “-0”. Again, the TDB is exactly on the target, but the STPT diamond is off.

An example of the same target as in the previous image with manually corrected elevation for the steerpoint (I have switched from CCRP to CCIP for the final attack):

Appears Recon elevations do not get loaded in STPT 1 - 24 also.

Known issue, will be corrected in U1.

Hmmm, but the JDAM’s hit precisely GPS steerpoint(s) in CCRP - I know , used stp’s in 15-24 range , so the problem is only with the ‘diamond’ (in CCIP) or… ?

Diamond and steerpoint elevation in the DED, yes.
