FSSB R3 and Viper
-
Hi,
I just bought a FSSB R3
What do you use for settings of load ?
Thanks a lot

if your stick is not strongly fixed ->lower value

If your stick is not strongly fixed in place, fix it in place. Bolt it down, or clamp it down.
Have the sensitivity low - requiring high force for movement. This means you get precision in your force application.

And you get a hell of a workout in a dogfight

You do. It really does add a bit to the endurance problem with a dogfight. I thought it was pretty cool, the first time I found myself having to make the decision to change my gameplan in BFM, not due to the opponent’s decision but due to my ability to maintain the G deteriorating. Getting too sore, cant maintain the G level, so transition to a slower fight, take them one circle and enjoy the ability to relax the G a bit.

Blu, I’d be interested in your views pro/con on FSSB . I’m coming off a Saitek x-65 (FS) to a Warthog and I’m still deciding which I prefer. I looked at the FSSB mod and went into sticker shock when I saw it was twice what I paid for the Warthog stick/throttle !

This effect is further amplified in a RL center-stick trainer with RL stick forces…just flying low level in the mountains can wear you out, and if you also have a few A/A engagements along the way you’re pretty drained all the way around after a two hour session…teaches you a few things and changes your perspective. Like it’s supposed to be doing.
Once you get used to this though, you come to both expect and appreciate it. And prefer it, really…really don’t like a stick that’s too light or too fast now…my CH stick sits in a corner collecting dust.

What stick do you use now ? Modded ?
