OK to start I played Falcon 4 the original looong ago when it came out. I remember being able to do OK in Instant Action and a few rookie missions. Flash Forward I was given a PC by my son that is plenty capable of running F4 BMS which I have downloaded, installed and got working . . . mostly

Two MonitorsBak in the day I was able to download Falcon Files for the Cougar which I did again but here’s my issues
After programming the HOTAS when I launch the game it only reads the throttle and stick inputs which work great but no buttons
I’m oh so confused about setting the buttons up in BMS on the MFD panels
The rudder pedals don’t seem to do anythingI’ve browsed around here a bit but can’t find any help . . . Are there any tutorials / manuals / “simple” instruction to help me get this all working right?
I’d like to eventually put the MFDs on the 2nd monitor with the VERY cool extraction thing I read about
Any help for an old man with some smarts and little experience . . . ?

I’ve been playing around with using the Alternative Launcher (AL) and the Thrustmaster TARGET software for my Warthog HOTAS.

Download and read their manual, and with the software you should be able to link TARGET with a HOTAS .tmc profile such as the one found here:
https://www.benchmarksims.org/forum/showthread.php?32399-A-Guide-to-Morphine%E2%80%99s-Profile-for-BMS-4-33-and-BeyondI had some trouble using TARGET at first with my throttle - it kept freezing when I’d run the throttle up past a certain point so I went with the AL route, set the axes, and mapped a bunch of the keys to my HOTAS with the help of the HOTAS print layout .pdf included with in the Docs folder you get in the BMS 3.43 download.

I’d avoid TARGET if I were you, IMHO it adds unneeded complexity (and bugs) to an already quite complex (compared to other sims & titles) setup experience.
Take a look at Kolbe’s keyfile generator spreadsheet (works fine in libreoffice, it’s in “Docs/Keyfiles & Input” I think), this should allow you to use pure DX programming for your devices, including the MFD frames and other controllers you might want to use for BMS. It may take a while to wrap your head around usage of this sheet but it’s time well invested.
As for display extraction, I’d recommend either YAME64 (if it works for you) or the RTT client found in your Tools subfolder (I use a combination of both at the moment, RTT for MFD extraction and YAME64 for the gauges).

In addition to display extraction. If you want to use touch displays you might wanna look into Helios as well wich allows to rebuild a virtual touchable cockpit around extracted displays as well.
For the usage of tablets I personally use the MFDServer App for Android here from the Forum. Even so it’s a bit old it functions perfectly with 4.34.4 and provides a fully functional ICP RWR as well as touchable MFDs. I personally use it only for the ICP and extract MFD with Yame as the Android App has a bit more lag on the MFDGesendet von meinem SM-G930F mit Tapatalk

Regarding the MFDServer App if your Kindles are Kindle Fire it might be worth a try. As the Tablet is available as .apk it should be possible to install it on a Kindle Fire.
The MFDServer App would even allow to use multiple Tablets. So one in ICP and the other in MFD mode. But as I said the connection between the computer running BMS and the Tablet is trough network MFD might lag behind.Another use for tablets might be to set them up as secondary USB monitors through 3rd party apps like DuetDisplay. But I haven’t found a working solution to use a tablet as additional monitor with working touch function.
Therefore I personally went for the display extraction for the 7" HDMI/USB touchscreen which are usually applied to RasverryPi but work on Windows as well
