A Questions about Flaps over All Flight Models.
-
Hi All:
This is for the universal ufc panel (button box) I’m designing.
I looked in the -1 and the BMS Full.key file but didn’t find the info.
How many positions are there for flaps. As far as I can tell it’s FULL, HALF, and NULL.
I want to have a rocker switch that increases and decreases flaps in increments and the current increment to be indicated with a set of LEDs to the rocker switch, so I just want to be sure how many steps it is from NULL to FULL. I hope that makes sense?

My understanding with the F-16 is that this is automatically controlled by the FLCS. You can override the FLCS and control flaps (using switches located on the far left control panel) but unless it is an issue with the FLCS being damaged, you could cause yourself to lose more control.

You should plan to wire every switch and every position for the viper and make some generic panels to work with other aircraft.

Thanks to everyone, but I still am looking for how many increments to flaps there are. So if one bird has 4 increments and the rest 3 I’ll make the button box with 4 leds to accommodate that rare configuration. But if only 3 increments then I’ll have 3 leds to indicate position. Well, that’s my current thinking on the issue anyway.
Sortofred: Yes that’s my understanding, in the Viper you let the FLCS handle flaps unless FLCS failure.
Badger: I mostly am, but I’ll skip eye candy switches as I am going for one ufc panel. Real estate may require some additional trimming.

Understood, keep in mind that an “eye candy” switch today, may be a functional switch tomorrow.
