How about making the pilot legs move?
-
Would there ever be a chance of getting two input axes for the side movements of the legs?
I think this would add to the immersion.Legs could also move up / down with rudder input.
Best would be to have four axes: each knee left-right and up-down
This could also be used as a cheap rudder with two IR lights on the knees and a second freetrack instance running or any other tracker, of course. Then a simple wooden board with springs could give the force feedback to those that want to save money for more important stuff.
Also the rudder owners could use the toebrakes in flight to move the legs out of the way.
A lot of options.
(I know that using freetrack I can look behind the legs by leaning to the respective side.)

Just going a little bit further, it would be even cooler to put leds on your hands and let them get ingame.
Why? Because you can show hand signals in the pit while the other player looks at you^^.
But I guess we can keep it simple also with one single “beer drink” hand signal. Oh, and a “thumbs up” as responseWould be cool, and I’m sure, in some years we might have it. Lets keep an eye on Virtual reality and when people have more and better possibilities to play around with it. thumbs up drink beer?

I often thought about that but for a different purpose. When trying to view the warning panel, or CMDS panel I find I have to really shift my body (with track IR) to look around my leg. Where as in real life a pilot would shift his leg in rather than manoeuvring his view around his leg. I wonder if there is a way to link the pilot heads with the track IR so as you try and position your head in a way to look around you knee to see the warning panel or CMDS the leg would shift in?

maybe lets get them in the blk 40s first?

well… the legs already do move with the rudder input…
using toebrakes doesnt move legs out of the way, though…
I suggest just removing the legs in their entirety, however.

Since we’re going this route what about someone simulate having your beer spill all over the canopy when u go inverted?

This guy is crazy. Never saw this video before. Thanks for posting the link.

First of all you should have a Mod that Looks like real… .all Versions I have seen bevor Looks just nice until you have been sitting in the real Jet and take a look then where your knees, legs and so on are… moving them in the actual state will not really make it better

Here ya go.

Yeah great AC.
Someone has to test it sooner or later, LOL.I remember that incident, …female pilot, … luckily noone was injured.

alright, let’s get back on topic.
The pilot leg mod never interested me except for the kneeboards and in connection with the WDP kneeboard data if I got that right in the past. (no time to check this out yet)
I would very much prefer having the kneeboard pages in the 3D pit compared to a side monitor or printed out for real kneeboard.
But knowing that I could not easily see cmds counts and warn lights, I thought maybe this would be easy to do for the 3D gfx guys.
Could the LOD thing or what you call it have switches activated by an external app maybe even the position to be controlled or must this be done by BMS coders? -

Gravity <> inertia
more important
Beer <> Coffee

let’s not get back on topic.
maybe these legs would be more welcome?
