@drtbkj if you guys are working on a update, could you please take a look at the C5 galaxy. I have seen it parked in Nordic without wheels and flaps shown. Mentioned it in Nordic thread but maybe it slipped through. Cheers Obi1

Obi, we’re always working on an update
Our running joke on that is that we have “job security”. We’ll look into your Galaxy issue. Have you done the UniUp2.4
https://www.mediafire.com/file_premium/j3m3vy7qk597w4n/OFM_2.4_UU.zip/file
and then the 2.41 Hotfix ?

Largely, the general plan is exactly that, wait for U4. However, we can still address things like your issue. While we don’t want to expend vast energy with U4 on the near horizon, we are continuing to support U3

Here’s something that has been mentioned before, but bears repeating . If you are new to the BMS Hornet, be it stock or OFM, you will see a HUD and Displays that aren’t 100% functional.
If you are seeing this, then what you have are the WIP new Hornet avionics.
If you want to go back to the old HUD/Displays, paste
set g_bEnableWIPF18Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPF4Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPTornadoAvionics 0 in .cfg reverts to the old methodto x/Falcon BMS 4.37/User/falcon bms.cfg

Hi, Obi, here’s an update. I can repro your Levitating Galaxy
. We’ll note that for future updates. Meanwhile, you can change that squadron to the C-17 (US) in Mission Commander. It has working, and visible, gear

Good Day, All. I just installed U4 and did what we call a First Pass Test in OFMKTO. That is a test of the basic functionality/stability of the module(Instant Action, DF, TE, and Campaign. I am happy to report that everything, included already made TE’s and campaigns, are stable.
Also, the new U4 explosion effects are present
One thing though, BMS.cfg has reverted to stock settings. So, the next test will be to see ifset g_bEnableWIPF18Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPF4Avionics 0
set g_bEnableWIPTornadoAvionics 0 in .cfgStill works
UPDATE: They still workWe’ll also do further testing with things like the new IDM functions, etc.
If you find any bugs in OFM Theaters, please report them here or on our Discord -

Good Day, All.
Here is an update for U4 in the OFM Theaters. An OFM Update, probably a Universal Updater ,will be forth coming. We’re still in early testing, but in the meantime…- The Tornpod option still works
- Although learning to set up Link16 pre-flight is a personal WIP, we have the new Link16 functionality working in OFM. The key is a new file called the txtpb file. @tiag has written about the one in the campaign folder(s) . In my personal testing, the campaign file txt.pb(s) was copied and renamed as instructed. I can report that the preexisting TE’s and campaign were still stable.
However, there are also key ones in the acdata section. We are still sorting the relationship, but it almost looks like it replaces the dat/afm files(although those files are still there). Anyway, to get the new Link16 functionality into an OFM Theater, go to x/4.37.4/Data/Sim/acdata and find the .txtpb file for your chosen jet.
The BMS Devs did a fantastic job, making files for a lot of the jets. Take that txtpb file and copy it to the same location in your OFM Theater-of-choice. - If you choose to include the “internal HTS” in your jet, open the txtpb file you just copied (Notepad ++ will open it) and add
hts {
hts_type: POD_INTERNAL.
You may also be able to change that to POD_EXTERNAL, but it was late when we got to that, and didn’t test. The “internal” set up was tested and does work. - The new explosion effects work, and look great.
Btw, a large Attaboy goes to whoever wrote the the new Link16 stuff in the Docs. The Dash-34 section on MIDS starts on page 244
-
Well, I may have been premature by saying MIDS is working in OFM stuff. In initial testing I did get the Link16 icon on the DTE page, but can’t repro that. Also, we need to work on the Link16 tab in the UI

@drtbkj Hello Sir, how do we do this update? Do I copy and paste the files or how does it work?

@drtbkj Hello Sir, how do we do this update? Do I copy and paste the files or how does it work?
Hi, Miek. It’s good timing on your question, as I was going to update this anyway…
First, to answer you question, the current plan is that they will be a file swaps like the Universal Updaters. We are, however, investigating making Installers. However, unlike the UniUps, at least part of them will be theater specific. In terms of the new MIDS functionality, anyway.
For now, if you have the UniUp 2.4/Hotfix 2.41 installed in your Theater(s) of choice, you’ll be ready when the U4 Conversions are released.
All,
Just to be clear, the OFM Theaters are fully functional/stable in u4, except for MIDS. That included already created campaigns and TE’s. We found no issue with such. From the conversion standpoint, there were 2 factors- U4 makes use of a new file format called .txtpb ,including in the .dat/afm flight model files .Fortunately, the BMS Devs did it in a way that the old format still works. However, we have converted our OFM flight model files to txtpb’s, have tested them with the dat/afm removed, and all is well… That part of the conversion will not be Theater specific. We thought about releasing them now, but decided to wait until we can give you the full conversions.
- The second component is MIDS functionality, which btw is really cool! What a SA tool. Thanks to some very timely help we have MIDS working in OFMKTO and Nevada(our test Theaters) .
OFMKTO and Nevada will probably be the first to be released. Three to four Mafia Weeks?Seriously though, they’ll be out soon,. And I’m told the others won’t be hard for us to get out.
-
Good Day, All.
This update covers OFM conversions and MIDS…
We’re fairly sure the first OFM U4 conversions will be out the middle of next week. Over on our Discord, we’re discussing UniUps vs. installers, given that the conversions are Theater-specific in terms of MIDS. We know you prefer Installers.
The other discussion we’d appreciate your input on is an another interesting possibility with MIDS capability. Namely, giving an equivalent to Russian and Chinese jets. It has been mentioned that giving US/Ally jets MIDS but not to opponents, who have some kind of link system, is unfair bias.
There are 3 serious questions to this- Can we do it accurately?
- Can we do it at all in BMS?
- Do we want to do it?
It’s the third question we’d appreciate your input on
-
Good Day, All
More on U4 conversions…
At present we have working test versions of OFMKTO,Nevada, Taiwan, and OFM-ITO. We are going to “take a moment” to do some files cleanups in terms of general file structure, but are still on schedule. -
Good Day, All
Today we are doing final testing on the OFM-Nevada 4.0 conversion, the actual Installer. This is my favorite part of testing, go flying .
So, we are very close to release. And, once our final format is out, we can reproduce the others fairly quickly.
It may have been mentioned before, but we are taking this opportunity to do some “housekeeping” in the files, with the goal of making smaller downloads for you.
While I’m thinking of it- https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/27641/how-to-setup-link16-and-my-idm-in-4-37-4/28
Also, in the Hornet and Fifth Gen pits, the MIDSLvt controls will be on the HSD, when it’s set as the left MFD. Osb 16-17 for odd-on, both left click. -
Good Day, All,
Work on the final version of Nevada for U4 continues. I flew it all last night. We’re taking a little extra time now as we are not “only” making Nevada, but also the “template” for the other conversions. We have included the new afterburner skins seen in other Theaters. Plus, we’re helping someone having issues with Afghanistan. But, all is well in Mafia World
Also, I’m very happy to report that Brother Jackal will be presenting several custom TE’s for Nevada -
Good Day, All
OFM-Nevada is out…
https://forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/27683/ofm-nevada-2-5-for-bms-4-37-4.We had quite the adventure on this one. After figuring out MIDS implementation, new file structures, etc., we had the installer done. Then we saw the post that pointed out a tip to reduce download size. Thanks to @chihirobelmo for posting that tip, and @SammySkycrafts for bringing it to our attention
