4.35 Benchmark TE Stats
-
It looks like I need a new CPU! Run the saved Benchmark TE and share your configs and system specs here. Let’s see what combination of parts work well for the new engine!
Run the Benchmark TE without changing 2D settings while headtracking is disabled. Once pit, give it 20 secs then record your 3 frame rate numbers here from top to bottom.
4.35 I get: 28.9 29.7 65.1
(4.34 I got 39)Most settings maxed and on (shadows on smoke are off and reduce ps on fires is on)
2080 Super GPU running 4k res (25% utilized, not the bottleneck)
Ryzen 5 2600 @ 3.85ghz
32GB Corsair RAM @ 2933mhz -
On paper your CPU should be about 10% faster than mine… and GPU much better… but I may have more of the visuals turned off than you do? I try to list them all below.
OS: Windows 10, 20H2
CPU: Core i7-3770, ca. 2010? not overclocked, Hyperthreading OFF
RAM: 32GB DDR3, 1600MHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, ca. last week
Monitor: G-Sync, ultrawide 3440x1440p @ 100hzComments: I’m definitely CPU-constrained!
Also note below, I tweak the cfg to play at 120-degree FOV. Maybe I’m weird that way, but I think it looks great on an Ultrawide monitor, and surprisingly (to me?) it doesn’t seem to impact FPS perf much at all.NVidia Settings:
(mostly defaults / application-controlled)
Low-latency mode: Ultra
Max frame rate: 99 fpsIn-app settings:
Antialiasing: 8x/max
Vertical-sync: ONRelevant BMS-cfg settings:
set g_fDefaultFOV 120
set g_bHiResTextures 1
set g_bReducePSFires 1

72 fps, very consistent, both internal and external views in range 70-75 fps4.35
83 fps on average, but more variable from ~63 fps to ~99 fps (capped)
eg.: 83.6, 91.0, 134.14.35 w/ g_bShadowMapping=1
35.5 fps on average, fairly consistent, and same for both internal and external views
eg: 35.1, 36.4, 105.5 -
This is what I get in 4.35 doesn’t seem to matter if on Ramp or Runway… I run with everything maxxed out like 8x, 16x anistropic, etc… Same 45 FPS in 4.34.4.
-
I get around 50fps in the cockpit and 60fps outside it on the taxi/runway (I lock everything to 1440p / 60 anyway)
Maxing out the in-game AA and settings seems to give me better quality results than the NVIDIA settings……have set AA and AF set to app controlled.

Benchmark, not bad. 100FPS…
Clouds on medium
Shadow mapping off
Focus object reflections offThese settings seem to have the biggest impact on my setup. Quite a bit faster than 4.34 with similar settings.

Where are these settings?

In config of course. Hardware section.
Thanks, I was looking in BMS and Nvidia control… that made a BIG difference, clouds are FPS killers apparently!

Yeah … they seem much better now. On my older system with GTX 1050 Ti, I used to have to run low-rez clouds and reduced cloud density, on 4.34, or else it would stutter badly.
I just tried 4.35 on it, and it seems quite smooth even with high-rez clouds and normal density. Poor old GPU is running hot tho!
