Certified virtual pilot course…

Oh I missed that you were thinking of SP.
One can work through the entirety of BMS-Training.pdf and know where they stand. Some medals or patches for proficiency would be fun. Heck just a normal after-mission debrief that told you how you did, on the training missions, would be nice.
And there should probably be a highly visible “difficulty rating” on some of those (like the foul-weather maverick mission, lol).
Medals or no, I know I still need a lot of training…

Yeah, I reckon in another 5 years or so I might class as “proficient” but not “skilled”

How do you assess your benchmark in SP?
…my benchmark has been my ability to gun a Mig-21 in the face. But I’m considering switching it to my ability to refuel. Which I CAN’T seem to do at all.

Refueling is easy, friend! Just open your refuel receptacle on the ground and use the T command to request Hot Pit Refuel!

I suggest those standards assess different skills, and might not be equivalent.
If refueling is challenging, practice formation. Get really comfortable joining, and leaving formation - as well as moving between distinct formation stations, smoothly (not necessarily slowly). Once you can fly formation with the cockpit of the tanker, with the wing of the tanker, or the vertical fin of the tanker, it should be easy to fly formation with the tail of the tanker and take fuel.

I agree. I don’t know why it came in my mind. as far as I remember there is some acknowledgment of virtual flight hours of Xplane to count for FAA for SPL. if I am not wrong.
-
INDRA also uses some flight Sims to officially log virtual hours. Prepar3d is one of them. it should not hurt anyone for having virtual hours on your resume. even if that is for research purpose only
-
what I wanted to express is that all the great guys putting on thousands of hours should be acknowledged somewhere.

I suspect you are jesting Stevie. No one with more than 4k post could possibly not be able to AAR. !! As for me, i have yet to shoot the mig in the face . PM me any time, we might be able to help each other out.

I think if you can do the MAV mission with poor weather and accomplish it as written. Pat yourself on the back haha
