FoxVox Free voice control software for BMS

@hoover Usually run TARGET on throttle only but have also tried without it running.
Did figure out that when 2 PTT’s are entered, if you press them both at same time, it works. But either or does not. Maybe it’s just how the coding is. Really like the simplicity of the program and it works very well.Tried using 1 button on throttle and 1 on joystick as you said and still same thing happens. But if I press both at same time it works.
-
@TxMtb You are correct, the software is programmed to require all PTT keys - not either/or. I can easily add an option to allow any key defined on the PTT to work rather than requiring all of them if that would help you.

@foxster Ahhh, that makes perfect sense then! Thanks for the info, can quit scratching my head now…
Pretty sure I can work this out with the individual command group PTT settings.Thanks again for your reply sir!

Hey foxster,
I’m just trying out the latest release, and I’m seeing a lot of invalid voice recognition attempts from foxvox when it shouldn’t even be listening (with “push to talk” enabled).
would it be difficult to turn off Voice recognition completely when PPT is enabled and the button combo is not pressed? that’s the only time I want foxvox to listen for commands, it should be turned off / inactive / not attempting to make sense of all other sound inputs when the PTT button is not pressed / active.
All the best,
Uwe

@hoover That became a little tricky when I added ptt independently to individual voice groups because you can have some with ptt and others without. I needed to see when a command was rejected due to ptt vs not recognized. I’m thinking maybe the best thing would be to add a logging option to enable logging when a phrase is rejected due to ptt with the default being off. The truth is that phrases are constantly evaluated either way, it’s just a visual cosmetic but I can see why you’d want it off, although sometimes it’s better on. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just a little suggestion / improvement: Would it be possible to save the main window position and size upon exit and restoring those values on startup? Thanks!
All the best & thanks for your consideration

Fantastic that you are still developing this, Foxstermeister…!
Regardless of your wonderful tool, your posts paint you as a top bloke to be sure…!
Cheers to you.
-
@hoover Sure, I’ll add it to the update list.
-
@foxster hello,just a note for ya,scince the update to .1, the librarys are not correct anymore.
Found that today while ordering attack targets and my response was clear my six.
Some keys changed. -
@oldtommyboy Refer to the BMS-Comms-Nav-Book.pdf page 34 and you can see the changes that they made to the radio menus.
Had to go in and adjust the commands to get everything lined up again. The Weapons Free AA and Weapons Free AG shifted everything down by 1 after those. The Weapons Free command used to just be 1 command. -
@TxMtb yep,i know,thx
-
@foxster ok,im trying to edit the words "new voice command " but i cannot edit it.
What am i missing,sheez…
When i click on add voice commands and the new voice command window opens, i can set the voice keys and the output commands,just cant change the title box, what the hell am i missing. -
@oldtommyboy It is kind of weird/clunky, try clicking in the middle of the title box 3 times. It should turn blue and then can be edited.
-
@TxMtb ok,i,ll try that,its been driving me nuts
Thx -
@TxMtb yep,that did it,damn.
thankyou sir -
@TxMtb can this be setup for ptt in comm 1 for uhf calls and ptt in comm 2 for vhf calls.
Right now i just have comm 1 down as ptt for all ptt commands .
Just curious .
If i dont set the global ptt and set the ptt in each group, comm 1 down for uhf groups and comm2 up for vhf groups. Will that work having two different ptt,s or a conflict or something. -
@oldtommyboy Actually have mine setup that way.
Used a ptt for UHF for ATC, Ground and Tower, just the way I set it up for some reason. That covers ground, tower, approach/departure.
Then have another VHF ptt for Wingman, Element, Flight, AWACS, and JTAC.Both of the PTT’s correlate to the Viper radio ptt’s in pit also. So if anyone was on the Tower freq, when I push to talk FoxVox listens and anyone on that freq would hear my voice speak. I also have the pilot voice set to off so that it’s not repeated by the computer voice.
-
@TxMtb ok,thats what was thinking.
Thx
Ill mess with it some more -
@oldtommyboy For a little clarification on the global PTT: when defined, the global PTT applies to all voice groups except any that have an overriding local PTT set up. An individual PTT will always take precedence over the global.
Sorry for the confusion on editing the name - it’s a double-click-to-edit operation.
