Can somebody help me with BMS 4.33?
-
Links were updated to a working copy of 4.33…
No more support will be provided anyway…
-
Hmmm… I think I know - 99%. I’ve had similar problem with registry in the past , probably 4.35 and now with 4.36.
I’ve had to edit security on root key to allow users, probably everyone or I couldn’t change theater from BMS.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Benchmark Sims
BMS could read reg but couldn’t write… strange. but!, since setup is admin , that goes… since BMS is not admin process it fails if security is not “worked around”.
I would say it is/was a windows “thingie” since some update, but… for some people it works “normally” so … question remains what exactly.
I don’t know, not really hard to try… and see if it would work in his case.
Cheers

@white_fang sorry, that’s not what you are describing… Nothing to do with that…
This is an issue with the new installer that was found and fixed…
-
@MaxWaldorf Yep, that’s the copy I downloaded from this site, unless there might be any issue with 4.33 detecting another version installed on the same computer, and therefore it might be a conflicting issue between versions…IDK, I’m at a loss, I followed every step and I even have an original copy of the first Falcon 4, I guess I will try reinstalling and see what happens… Thank anyways, I really appreciate you guys taking the time to send a response my way! Thank you!

Just asking, why 4.33, and why not 4.36? 32 bit related?
-
@finsterdow Yep! My computer is just an old rig, and until can come up with enough with enough money to start buying parts for my new computer I’ll have to fly 4.32 or 4.33. Anyways, I figured out what was wrong, the problem was that for some reason when I installed 4.33 the setup program wrote the registry key without adding the “U1” at the end of the line (My registry key read HKLM/Software/Benchmark Sims/ Falcon BMS 4.33 instead of HKLM/Software/Benchmark Sims/ Falcon BMS 4.33 U1 ), so after that 4.33 started normally! Sometimes you gotta look at the simple stuff to find a solution, and I was refusing to do another one of the Falcon dances, didn’t feel like it!

@Poppy Ahh, your computer is 32bit and wont run 64?
I had a problem with 64bit in 4.33. It would run on my PC if I used the Keyboard only. When I plugged in my HOTAS it would CTD. Never really solved it, but thought it might have had something to do with the Thrustmaster HOTAS having FORCE FEED BACK. Never did figure it out. Upgraded to 4.36 and just bought a new HOTAS. Slightly on topic. Works now. -
@Poppy Why don’t you use 4.36 instead?
-
@mvanderlubbe79 needs: 64-bit OS … DX11 graphics part … and probably more RAM? but idk what 4.33 required
In theory, there are cloud-based PC game hosts, that might work well for BMS … I don’t know if anybody has tried yet. But the new spiffy single-file-installer could make it a lot easier!

Primary concern is if all HOTAS devices get remoted properly. And network lag + video decoding adding to input-loop latency… but it’s not a fast-twitch shooter. It might be preferable to flying 4.34 or earlier (if it works).
