Recommended settings change for 4.37.1?

With U1 out, do we still want to disable water/environment mapping to avoid crashes/graphical glitches due to excessive draw calls? Or has that been fixed?
-
Shadows draw calls are less expensive in theory in U1 but there will still be limitations due to the LOD format…
So depends…
-
@RISCfuture try it and let us know.

Guys I’m on an RTX3090, 5900X and HPG2.
With Shadows draw on, Campaign mission at an Airbase will flicker pink and eventually CTD.
Shadows draw off runs without problems.
Nevertheless, I love BMS in VR! -
Weird. 9600K oc to 4.8ghz, 24gb DDR4 , 3070Ti oc, win11
Pico 4 , all details and shadows etc maxed
Never ever pink screen etc in stock campaings so far.
Not even balkans.

With U1??? If so, please share the campaign file, I’d like to take a look.
-
Yep with U1.
Tried again, no CTD this time but still pinky flicker when looking to the left sitting at Gimpo.
It’s just 1st day in a fresh campaign nothing special…I’m on Windows 10.

@SaimOn thanks, Ill check tonight or tomorrow!

Thanks Seifer, no hurry. I can do without shadows atm.
One additional question, I tried the new “set g_fVRIPDMultiplier 1.1” but it didn’t do anything so I went back to Steam 110% world scale.
Is there perhaps a typo? -
@SaimOn the variable name seems correct to me. Have to ask @chihirobelmo about it though.
-
FPS goes well till one mfd with tgp and other with wpn (mav) eates 50% of gpu power. Same in 2d, but relation is 250 to 150 and doesn’t affect gameplay
-
@SaimOn Apparently the g_fVRIPDMultiplier setting is reversed, you’ll have to go below 0 to increase world scale:
-
@FickleFossa below 1 I think. 1.0 is normal. 0.8 is 20% bigger?
-
@rubbra Eh yeah, below 1 That’s how I read it.
-
It not reversed, it’s distance of virtual eyes (cameras. So small number makes cameras move closer each other > world looks bigger
-
@haukka81 Ah, I see, thanks for the explanation
-
Thanks. I can confirm <1 is working.
