Unit Bubble

I was wondering if any consideration has been made of increasing the standard 10nm bubble for ground units.
Its been a long time since these old values were set & our CPU power has grown 10-20 fold since then.

Tested with all ground units set to 12152 ft (20nm) cost about 30% FPS drop over the FLOT in Rolling Fire.
Tested with all ground units set to 9114 ft (15nm) could not pick a FPS drop (must have been some but not noticeable)
Sam & AAA were unchanged.
10nm bubble = 324nm square, 15nm = 706nm, 20 = 1256, which over a FLOT was a bit too much.

I have played around with different bubble settings and for units (non AAA/sam) IMO 12-15nm would be good values, no need to go above that IMO , hit was very low .
Some of AAA need work, raising IMO like K19 AAA, not much but 3-5 extra nm would help better simulate the battery IMO and you don’t have to worry to much as there not that many of them , compared to other units . -
What about larger bubble for AWACS AC to get RWR signal? The problem is the hidden bubble slider. Regardless how big bubble value is set the deagg distance cannot be higher than 70-80 nm as I can remember.

Some thing I noticed is that the “Ground Radar Cursor” has no bubble any more. It used to be small but now nonexistent.
Tested that with a friend tonight. If you have Jsows selected it works. But not for clusters.

The AI is visible on Radar also from further.Does the Bubble affect visibility of objects with Eyes, or does it only enable/disable the intelligence of AI (in this case, shooting, exploding etc.)?

Even the radar display is different against stuff in inside and outside in 3D world. Just try with objective and see how they are deaggregated as well as battalions. If you put your cursor in AG mode under aircraft in 2D world they will deaggragte. AI units against AC controlled units can use weapons through the bubble but you cannot.
It is very hard to summarize all cases. As a player in 99% of cases never experience the side effect of the 2D/3D world issues.

I believe the AWACS are handled as if it was a long range radar unit. The A-50 Radar has a range of 1.12533e+006 That over 206nm. The E-3 @ 250nm
The Patriot has a radar rang of 120nm.
Radar range and bubbles are not the same thing. However the Patriot and Sa-10 does have a deagg bubble of 60nm.

There was never an AG FCR radar cursor bubble in BMS, I think in AF there maybe was. TGP was implemented somewhere during one of the updates (It was there forever but never worked due to a bug in the TGP position fetching for the bubble). Maverick/HARM sights always had since ever.

Wow all these years & I didn’t pick up on that.
I never fly alone so I’m sharing bubbles, there’s that many units on the ground I thought the my box was struggling to deagg all, Who uses ground radar anyway with out stand off weapons except when on a gun run. now I know why others see then before me their looking in their TGP.
I did notice for the TGP to deagg it has to have its display active in a MFD. Unlike the mav or jsow which only has to be the selected weapon even its not powered or has its display active.
I think ill leave ground units set to 15nm then. that extra 5nm does make all the difference.

6076, so your numbers are ~10 times smaller, no big deal. I say about such errors that as long as everyone understand the meaning, it’s not really a problem
