@Obi1 Aside from actually flying a helo in the Sim, All helo’s should be able to conduct operations off all carriers (US, Chinese, Russian & Amphibs). You may see the helo’s spawn below deck, but this does not appear to affect operations.
If you see something that does not seem to work correctly please post with pictures and means to attempt a reproduction.

@JollyFE No its not about flying helo itself. Just have selfmade campaign in which no helo missions are generated. Also have seen 2 similar names for the carrier while choosing base in MC so maybe i should try also by choosing the other name. But if it is something that should normally work out of the box I will try to pinpoint my problem. Thanks for confirming.

It will even work for ships inside Task-force, not just carrier , just need to select (mother) ship in MC - but! (not without butt’s) - ship must have defined t/o position in .veh file - eg. see /sim/vehdata/Burke_Class.veh -> helispawnpoints.That way you can spawn MH-60R on eg. Ticondroga.

@white_fang Yes I have seen these parts in the objectives files of carriers. Did not know they also could be working for other ships.
But the problem at my side seemed to be mission generation for certain helicopters. Ch-53 worked very good in generating transports for example. But AH-1s would not generate a mission for say attacking troops very easily. Maybe it has to do with distance to the front or actually mission capabilities. I need to check all these still. Also when I hand generate missions I have some missions types that have more chance of failing to generate a mission than others.

I have seen BAI and SCAR missions generated now. So my first question is solved. They can automatically generate missions from carriers.

Indeed… it has to work, it always has … carrier is just an airbase.But one thing , tho, based on number of t/o points (on carrier in objdata) - ATO is generating flights with number of planes (helo’s in this case) - so, if 2 helo t/o points maxflight = 2 , if 4 points maxflight = 4 .
I’ve seen it already in action (on army-bases in Balkans) - Army bases had only 2 helidromes so, when adding a helo squadron MC will warn about it - it will be marked in yellow color.
So, I’ve just edited all used armybases objectives and added 2 more helidromes features along with point-data helo-points - now ATO generates 4-ship flights .
- so, one should check number of heli-points (i didn’t) on carriers if want to generate 4-ship flights , rather then only 2

(btw, yes, I’ve also edited mission types in helo…dat (vehdata) because they are somewhat unfinished -eg Ka-52/Mi-24 were going on Recon missions 400-500km long… well…)
