I had me a vision (there was'nt any television) - Enlivening Airbases
-
One of my favorite aspect of the SIM is the ability to change/alter units and see how they
behave
.I do this using the EDITOR & MC.
I have an idea to give life to airbase by putting personal units at it. The `humans’ should be scatter around the base.
This is a work in progress and for now i have one main issue and need help on this problem :
I chose the base M16 SQUAD unit, changed all its structure to 42 M16 SQUAD & 2 HMMVW.
The problem is that while in 3D all figures are MORTAR PERSONAL.
I checked the individual M16 SQUAD 3d object in the EDITOR and it shows as MORTAR PERSONAL.
So, is that a DEV work to solve or can i do something to change it to actually a personal holding M-16 ?
some pictures -
Some of the humans placed on the runway . . . i still need to check if this will cause collision problem -
TDL :
- make them walk in the airbase
- make my aircraft supervisor make it dance while i’m taxing . . . `-)
-
@regev Cool! Just keep 'em off the runway.

@regev
Please add to the TODO List - Make a Crew Chief and fire watch for doing startups (after you figure out how to make them something other than Mortarmen).
This would be a GREAT addition to Virtual Crew Chief for BMS.
I am sure @Aragorn would approve…
Thanks for your consideration,

another idea on the subject . . . like the AI aircrafts follows the taxiways, if its possible (DEV?), make walking lines around the airbase that do not interfere to the aircrafts.
The personals will walk along this lines, stop for a smoke or small talk.I know, ideas are easy to create . . . make them a reality is the hard work

More results after test i done (at night time . . .):
Because “M16 SQUAD” figure is actually a “MORTAR figure” i tried to found another one that is actually a soldier holding rifle.
I found that the `HQ M16 SQUAD’ figure is the one -Few problems :
Some figure/aircraft interaction :
I checked if this figures have a
collision
effect. They don’t -Testing continues
