      YES…I know this has been talked about before, but humor me.
      Is there ANYWAY to select HUD only (i.e. 1 or 5), and be able to slew your view using the ‘coolie’ hat? I realize you can accomplish ‘slewing’, by using TrackIR, however, that is NOT an option for this particular situation. I need to have a HUD only view AND be able to slew with the ‘coolie’. Is there any option in falcon bms.cfg, set of key strokes, or even a magic incantation I can use on my system to accomplish this?
      Is there perhaps any software that anyone has heard of, that can make the ‘coolie’ mimic a TrackIR device, so as to ‘fake’ out BMS into thinking there is a TrackIR installed.
      (Clearly I’m grasping at straws!!)
      Thanks for any help!!

          Hi,

          Short answer… No the HUD only is a fixed view.

          You do have some other options.
          Use the 3D empty shell cockpit. The 3D pit is removed and you only see the HUD (and the cockpit below you)

          You can set the HUD only view and move it a bit in the screen.

              Thanks gentlemen!!! I had a feeling, short of rewriting the code, what the answer was going be. I was hoping someone might have written an add-on that would bypass the on-board code and allow panning/snapping in HUD only. No such luck.
              Being an old flight sim dev team member myself, I know how this stuff works, but I was asked to check into it, and so I have!!
              Thanks again for all the help.

                @LAB83:

                Empty cockpit shell.

                How exactly do you enable this? I’ve tried before but the key commands always seem hit or miss. I have that problem with most of my view keys, as a matter of fact.

                  in the bms keyfile there is a callback for that, but dont know if is it assigned for a key yet, I will find my statement today.

                  here is my callback, assigned to “CTRL + 0”

                  OTWToggle3DEmptyShell -1 0 0XB 2 0 0 1 “View-Toggle empty cockpit shell”

                  I use these in my cockpit
