-Ice's Falcon BMS Helios Profile Updated!

Hello Ice,
P.S.: Can’t wait to discover your new profile
Likewise, as I’ve just installed BMS 4.33.3 and need to configure all add-ons to the sim like TrackIR/Voice Recognition/Helios/MFD extractor etc. from scratch. IIRC it’s not a good idea to copy configs from BMS 4.32. Thanks in advance for all your hard work @Ice and sharing it!

Hello Judy. I’d need your images in a .zip file as well; all that’s showing up are red X images. I’d also need a copy of your YAME profile.
As for my new Helios profile, it’s fitted to work on two touchscreens so I guess that limits who can use it. However, I’ve added quite a few new images and buttons which anyone can copy and paste into their own profiles so that’ll be cool…

Thanks Ice. Here are the files you requested.

P.S. Edit: won’t take my images.zip file. Too big I think. I’ll find another way to send it.

I for the life of me cannot get YAME and Helios to play nice. With both programs running, the YAME screen is displaying over the Helios screen. With yame not running, helios works fine. I tried the masking option and not, and every other option really. The Masking function doesnt seem to be working, there is a whole screen filled with the backgroud color that was chose whether visible/masked is checked or not
Maybe somebody that is using YAME and Helios successfully together can save thier yame layout and share it with me so i can try it on my end.
I am using a modified ICE/WEEPOP profile with some of my own stuff thrown in, so anyone who is using ICEs should at least get me closer to where i need to be.
Thanks

Hi Guys,
since I am really a noob about using helios with touch screen,
is there a simple noob guide how to set up the touch screen for bms?this is what I understand so far:
1. install the touch screen monitor as second monitor in win7.
2. download and install the latest helios from http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com/downloads/13
3. download and install MFD extractor, or is it YAME? which one works better?
4. use Ice’s profile in helios.is this correct?
do I need to set up bms for the touch screen monitor?
please advise. -
Just no 4 wrong …Use weepops profile

Just no 4 wrong …Use weepops profile
ok I will try both.for MFD extractor or YAME,
do I also need profile? -
1. install the touch screen monitor as second monitor in win7.
2. download and install the latest helios from http://www.gadrocsworkshop.com/downloads/13
3. download and install MFD extractor, or is it YAME? which one works better?
4. use Ice’s profile in helios.1. Connect the touchscreen to your GPU, make sure windows sees it.
2. Calibrate touchscreen.
3. Install Helios and MFDE or YAME64. Personally, I recommend YAME. I would say both perform the same, but YAME has better features.
4. Try out Ice’s profile or Weepop’s profile. If you’re only using one screen, I’d recommend Weepop’s profile as it’s better than mine. Once you’re more comfortable with Helios, I’d have released my new profile by that time so you may want to try THAT and incorporate it for your needs…. but that will come later.Remember that you will have to use the relevant .key file and other stuff. There’s nothing you need to do in BMS except load the correct .key file.

Thanks Ice for the reply.
Since the new touchscreen monitor has not arrived yet,
but there is an old 22" monitor, is it possible to use the old one for the second monitor?
however since there is no touchscreen, is it possible to use mouse instead? -
You can use the 2nd monitor, sure. Not sure about the mouse though. Do give it a try and see if it works!!

Once in the pit you wont be able to get the mouse onto the second screen … sorry but I don’t think this will work … better to wait for the touch screen to arrive.
-
Yeah, I think they made a change a while back. In 4.32, IIRC, you could bring the mouse OUTSIDE the cockpit and ran the chance of clicking on two things –- one where your actual mouse cursor was on the secondary monitor, and another one where your in-cockpit cursor was on the main display. I think that’s why they now have the Mouse cursor disable callbacks.

Hi Ice,
I want to try your profile too.
But I can not find the xml file for yame.
Where is it? -
My profile was made LONG before YAME came around, no now XML profile…. but you should be able to use Weepop’s with little-to-no modification.
-
thanks Ice.
weepop.xml works.however, with your profile, I also notice the touch screen responds different with finger or mouse.
with mouse I get the button animations,
with finger, I do not.why is that?
is there another touchscreen setting in windows that I should set? -
Where do you get/not get button animations?
-
Hi Ice,
Finally I find the culprit why the buttons respond differently when I touch it by finger or by using mouse.
I have to turn off all the right click setting from Windows Control Panel > Pen and Touch.
Now the problem is solved.
