IFlyBMS

iFlyBMS is now ready for public release! Enjoy!

Hi -Ice,
Great news. Thanks.
News has been posted, with some delay, on the FlightSimCommunity Facebook portal. -
I feel like saying thanks to myself, but Thanks!

Just gave it a go, unfortunately I’m having trouble with the key file, especially the ICP keys which you use are the radar cursor keys and so on, that’s screwing with my X52 config. Is there a way to reassign some of the keys in iFlyBMS?
For exaple, default ICP keys are Ctrl+Num1, Ctrl+Num2 and so on, and I’d like to keep those since they are toggle buttons and won’t have a sync problem like the landing gear handle does…Thanks for the great work though, I’m sure it will progress into a great piece of equipment

Nice work -Ice. It’s good to have some variety out there.
For those wanting a photo-realistic ICP which works on iPhone or iPad just click on the link in my sig.
In answer to some of the questions re MFDs you can do it on an iPad but it’s a more involved process to get it working and they’re obviously a bit smaller than the actual MFDs. I’ve tried both scenarios and I personally prefer using the iPad for input only as an ICP. The iPhone will work just the same but you obviously need to be very accurate when pressing the much smaller (virtual) buttons.

What it looks like in action.

Is there any way to have the MFD’s on the Ipad? That would be really amazing.

There are a couple of options out there, but they haven’t been commented on in some time. Check the Input Devices -> Touchscreens forum.
Cheers!

I ended up getting an iPad for college. So I need to figure out which app for BMS is the best…

Greetings Ice,
I was looking at your video and noticed that you have your MFD’s mounted to your monitor. I’d like to do that with my Thrusmaster MFD’s and have the MFD display inside them. How did you mount those to your monitor?
Thanks,
-Matt

Ice, thanks for this great tool. You’ve done a magnificent job. Now waiting for the next version, with horizontal display, maybe ?

Wow, I’m surprised my thread is still up. Thanks for trying it out guys.
Matt, the MFDs are taped to the monitor bezel using double-sided tape. Judy, my apologies but I do not see myself working on this anymore. The simple reason is because I managed to score a 10" Lilliput touch screen which I am using now for the exact same purpose as iFlyBMS. I may do a horizontal setup if I find the time in the future, but that’s a big “if.” The only reason it is an “if” is because one of the guys I’m flying with has requested this as well, so I’ll see what I can do.
-
Could you make this work on an iphone also?

No sweat man, your tool is already just great as it is/ But thanks anyway for considering the horizontal version. Anywhere we can have a look at your setup with the 10" touch screen ?

JudyIt’s just like the setup on the video I did, but this time there is a 10" monitor below the instruments monitor, so it’s right between my legs. It has a sort of stand though so I can pull it out and forward a bit, so it’s very easy and accessible, just like the F-16’s ICP although it’s not in-your-face and is situated lower…

Er, see post above yours dude. Shorter version: Me = no, You = yes. Try it!

If that’s OK with you, I might try to create an horizontal version. I don’t have a clue how, but I’ll start researching.

I can’t have my Ipad to connect to the server anymore
I woulod really NEED and appreciate some networking help here.
I explained everything here
Please, if you have any networking knowledge, please help me out !!!
edit:
this is my problem basically :
and this is how my network looks like :

Hello Shung! Sorry to hear about your problems but it sounds like it’s more of a network issue than a iFlyBMS issue. When you try to connect to the TouchControl server from the iPad, does it connect? Have you updated the TouchControl PC-side or iPad-side programs? If you haven’t then keep it that way. I’ve not used the newer version so Dave may have changed something we don’t know about. I see you’ve posted on the TouchControl website, give it a couple of days and Dave might be able to help you out. Might be a good idea to drop him a direct email too as he seems to reply to that quicker.
I’m assuming your iPad can still connect to your wifi network and can surf the net and such? If so, then we know the iPad-to-wifi network is fine. You might want to take a look at the ZeroConfig network setup again, or maybe re-install the PC-side of TouchControl.
Good luck!
