Hi, I’m new to BMS and am in the process of going through the training missions in 4.33. I’m having a few issues regarding the DMS down function it doesn’t always work on my HOTAS its got a mind of its own. Has anyone else had this problem? Im using a X55

Just for clarification, is DMS Down happening on its own or is it not working sometimes when you press it?

How did you program your HOTAS…SST or thru BMS? Also, which button on your HOTAS did you use for DMS Down?

Are you sure the left or right MFD can be set as SOI? HSD and FCR for instance can be set as SOI, but the SMS page cannot.
For instance if you have the FCR or your left MFD and SMS on the right one, DMS down will do nothing.

I have a question too regarding DMS (but I didn’t read all the manuals yet :wfish:),
I have on the right MFD (from left to right) SMS, FCR, HSD. FCR Active
Stepping through with DMS Left, the first pass, FCR looses SOI. Stepping again through all, FCR gets SOI. Stepping through again, it loses, etc.
(BTW. on the left MFD I had TEST page active so that SOI couldn’t remain there)
                  is this normal?

From your list, FCR and HSD can be SOI ( and TGP,HAD,and WPN)
Also, (and someone back me up if needed), but as I recall cycling off the SOI and returning to it does require reassigning. I don’t think it’s a bug.
And F, I’ve found the most success with TMS,DMS,and CMS to be via SST after reassigning the commands to single press(ie: no combo presses)

Well right from the git go your description is confusing as you only talk about the test page on the left MFD (not SOI able) and you describe the three pages on your right MFD then promptly talk about DMS left which will change the pages on the left MFD.

True, sorry, didn’t notice, I meant DMS Right.

Just restarted a TE, because of another ‘Sim-Freeze’, and I wanted to test AGM’s (in my case AGM-65-D) with TGP and WEAPON view (How much FPS, you know?).
Til now I never had a problem with DMS down! But as soon I set on left MFD as third WEAPON i couldn’t use DMS down anymore!
                          Left MFD: FCR, TEST, WEAPON
                          Right MFD: SMS HSD TGP
I could cycle through the views for right and left MFD, but e.g. with FCR left and TGP right, DMS down didn’t work anymore! That’s for A/G!
In NAV mode still all fine, also in A/A mode all fine…

                          Any suggestions?

My suggestion is you haven’t RTFM and you went to GM Snowplow mode and didn’t realize that you need to ground stabilize the FCR in GM as it will drop SOI and not be able to return SOI to the FCR until you do that or turn off snowplow.

                              Not RTFM, of course… 🙂
But, no, I know that with SnowPlow. It was the normal FCR mode. I even set other views, but no DMS down function anymore.

How are you calling SimDMSDown? Joystick button? Keyboard? Joystick-profile-software-pressing-a-virtual-keystroke?

TM-Warthog Joystick, DirectX (not with TARGET).

Hi, I tried to reproduce the DMS down issue, but wasn’t able…
BTW: ‘DMS down’ isn’t working in VIS mode too (but do not want to have written something wrong, if I’ve done).
