Yeap as for us Seoul would have been build up by now 3 times… what takes time?
Personal stuff.
The fact that Seoul in Falcon has nothing to do with real Seoul.
Custom buildings to make it look as real as it can.
Night lighting. To tell u the truth I work mostly on this then building… As u said RAM 3 months and still as u can see basic stuff on Falcon are not that clear. I don’t want to build something and then redone it just cause of an oopps u had to check this for every xxx times… So first learn and test what is needed and then go forth.
Basic stuff we don’t know… I spent one week cause my models where not showing at all in Ogllod… Reason they where far away from scene center in 3DS… Go figure… lucky guess…

A reinstall as 3ds MAX Design 2013 is a killer on resources and makes work like a snail so we went to 3DS Max 2013

To give u an example of time u can have ready a block of 1km by 500meters in just one hour tops… So then do the Math according to how big is a town.
Putting the damn models in to Falcon without Features or Objectives is a pain… what I mean… where we will put the town there are already some features that we will have to do what?
If there where an objective Seoul or Features or if we could know easily how to make them than it would be easier…
I believe u posted something RAM also I might have to consider the copy airbases method to create new objectives inside Falcon. -

Sky, were did your preview come from…?
Hi Molni and gents,
Its not a preview they are simply screen shots from Israel Theater along the shore line I just adjusted the flight path so you could see the view as an example of a city.
Although when you fly up close you see that the buildings are not matched to terrain or texture and there’s much distance between them which is the historical following view from the original Falcon 3.0 terrain, but from a distance which was the reason I captured the screen shot it looks real enough to believe its an actual city area and looks fantastic.
Also I like to add there are some good projects in this Forum TAB and those gents need community and Dev help with solutions and assistance to complete them…
e.g. the F-22 and F-14D, Theater texturing etc etc etc …and… I’m also trying to get in and learn 3DSMAX once I’ve installed it correctly, I have had a few issues…LoL with downloads aussie broadband is crap…disconnections rrrrr… well its a 7 gig download…LoL …So eventually I will need help getting started once I’m actually on the move I will ask some questions.
So please I ask for community to support me and all other community projects by others currently a WIP which will improve what we have now as we wait for BMS Devs to further develop new terrain engine etc etc in future.
The Cities project would be great looking forward…I respectfully ask anyone if you guys could help me get started by sharing video tutorials to start small things… i.e … I think first I want to build an army base complex starting with gun towers as taste and build experience.
Question is how would I start it… what do I need to do first… please offer something to get me started would be great if someone could guide me in the initial stages of learning once I’m on the roll I will be okay…just the pain of learn is daunting to say the least when I see all those menu functions they use in youtube…kinda scares any new comer away…but keen enough to start at 0…and build to level 100 game modeler…LoL
Also I need pictures of ground structure content preferably military installations also nuclear plants etc etc please post in thread thanks…if its okay with Arty and BMARTINS… I believe its okay since the attempt is to add 3D content to theaters, let me know guys if otherwise.
Arty has offered to help me, but I dont want to draw them away from developing Cities for Falcon…I also felt that I should just discuss this in this thread regarding new ground structures since its relatively on the same topic and idea if BMARTINS and Arty want or suggest to start my own thread will do so…I just think would be good to keep it all together in one thread and develop a new look for theaters sharing the same concept … “3D Content for Falcon”! Thanks all!
Well will see what happens…thanks Arty for the help, I will PM you about 3DSMAX if I have further problems. But fingers cross hope not!
Also at this stage I’m just willing to give it a try see if I succeed…maybe the next Hayab here…LoL…but keen to learn and see how far I get…but would gladly work with someone who is more experienced and would love to start on a “New Database of Ground Structures for BMS F4”…So Modelers needed…???

There are severe limitation issues sky. If you want to contribute somehow you should try to learn to build basic structures first. And there´s always a risk of the work needed to be redone. we cannot have unlimited specific buildings for now. Because you will need to create a feature and a texture for single on of them sky. Knowing that the dds have a limit of 9999 (that’s what I have been told…) we cannot build every important building to our will. we have to strict to most important areas and we need to have a objective near that point. Since as arty mentioned the cities it self are not objectives. All those that offered help here or by pm will not have their offer refused. But for nor let arty solve the material issue of night day and let me finish Seoul centre (I can change the material after. Don´t think I need to rebuild kimpo again neither Seoul.)
After the main issues are solved and tested we will give the tutorials we have and the ones we have to complete to assist who may want them.
we can deal with all types of criticism and filter the ones that will contribute to our work. For what I have seen many are interested in helping and many of you know all things take it´s time. I like to post some WIP from time to time so you don´t think we are halted on this project.
All those subjects and doubts all may have feel free to send a pm.

1tile:1km scale? If yes, I would like to overlay one with new Seoul tiles to see how much to coordinate.Correct.
If you already have place the tiles Polak I need a scaled print screen of monsters terrain. Let me explain why. What you see is not a single feature it is divided in 5 features. You have the detailed zone with the monuments and the detailed hi-rise buildings. A higher central zone with generic medium buildings. And smaller buildings zones. Altitudes still need to be corrected. Many tiles in there and many at different altitudes. As you know Seoul in-game zone was taken from a medieval map its far from what you have.
So just send me something like this:From all the tiles you have so far. What is done is a mere fraction of what it will be and Seul is a massive city.
We are working to have cities as new objectives to. That way we can rebuild all major cities and let game objectives a side. It will take time but our work is like Lego lol and we can rebuild everything very fast.

in case some wonder those are 40404 polygons… in the one with the city it’s double…
The technik - method of creation was as the one we have now… with 3 planes per tree… well actually 6 cause 2sided in the material didn’t look well in Falcon so I duplicated them.
The Con with this approach is that when u are high in altitude they look strange and not like a heavy forest covering all the ground… I have something in mind for this… like a lod that will kick in making a transition and passing from those crossed planes to a continues umbrellas area that will cover the whole ground area… this must have less fps Impact…
