Avionics Configurator
-
Hello fellow Falconers
From my resent visit to Fighter Wing Skrydstrup I learned that all engines PW200 will be replaced by the “newer” PW220 in the Danish F-16’s.
In the Avionics Configurator I can only select the PW200. I’m not a engine specialist, but I know that the main difference on the two engines are that the PW220 is controlled by electronics and will not encounter a compressor stall like the PW200 if one were to push the throttle forward to fast.
1. Would this minor detail fall into the dev team interest to correct?
2. Will it have any effect at all regardless of the engine type in this setup?
3. Is there anyway I can move around this and tell the program that the engine type is now the PW220?
Hope to get some good feedback. Thanks in advance
Greetings

Engine stall is implemented. But I am not sure if it is modified by avionic conf. (?) …

AV Config only modifies the function of the DEEC/SEC ground self-test.
For the PW after advancing the throttle to IDLE, the caution light illuminates for about 3 seconds to indicate automatic DEEC/SEC ground self-test.
The GE dose not have this function. -
BMS avionics configuration shows Danish MLU has PW200 modelled, whereas other EPAF MLU’s already have PW220. This makes me believe there is a difference modelled in terms of performance and other characteristics.
But the configurator only lets you choose between PW or GE engines, not the versions of them.I took a quick glanse at BAF and RDAF f16 dat files and noticed some differences between them, so I assume of someone could tell you what parts are engine type/model specific, you could copy/paste those and overwrite current RDAF MLU values.
My guess, but I’m far from an expert here, these values probably are relevant and seem to differ between BAF/RDAF:

Not trying to hijack this thread, but the ‘Avionics Configurator’ topic is on point and I am just now getting started with 4.33.
My questions are very basic:
Is there a tutorial on how to use/implement this new feature?
Is chosen configuration applicable to campaign or will it also work in training missions?Appreciate any direction you can provide.
Regards.
