Bullseye print out.
-
Just posting this as it may be useful to someone out there.
I’ve created a bullseye print out for those who sometimes struggle figuring out where a bullseye call is in relation to your ownship.
I’ve laminated my copy so I can use a whiteboard marker to plot locations if need be.
Pdf and jpg can be downloaded from here: http://stephenhoult.co.uk/2016/07/05/wildcats-bullseye-trainer/
Please let me know if you find it useful or any way in which it can be improved.

That was used in old monochrome ground radar screens and GCIs we called it “handy dandy”.
It could be good for training but I recommend getting use to do it in your head in BMS.
Cheers -
Just what I need I am going to make a bullseye template. My bullseye awareness is pretty poor but this will help with training.

thank you so much for this. !!! A lot of people Cant Get it in the head……
The thing" about the bull is you look at your HSD and notice the NORTH Symbols… than cross correlate the 2 to the bull… if you are doing all this in your head as you are flying that is great… id say 99% ARE NOT

I created my own Bullseye laminated it. it is the best form of training aid I have found, I can actually find targets now aswell as give target co-ordinates. On a mission is there a best position to set Bullseye?

For ease of use putting it on the target would make sense to me as you’d know anything close to bullseye is going to be a factor but I’ve never thought about moving it.
Though this is probably not best practice for operational use.

So for dudes just learning to run the radar, what they do is put Bullseye behind them. They’re already so behind the jet with just trying to stay on timeline that a picture call with a bullseye 100 miles away drains even more SA. It’s a lot simpler when you know slewing your cursors up increases range, to the right increase bearing, etc. Also we still carry bullseye maps with threats and sometimes Lat/long depending on what the FL wants.
