Amazing Thx

Wow, nice!
Wondering how the impact on FPS is though. I’m pretty low on margin with my 4K these days. Would love that on the BAF MLU but afraid it will be to heavy. -

If you don’t like it you put the old files back. Here’s what you should do. Make a back-up of the original RNLAF dat files and RNLAF skins. Create also a back-up of the “KoreaObj.LOD” and “KoreaObj.hdr”. Install the new model, dat and skins. See if you like it. If not copy the original files back.

WOW!! amazing work! great job.
There’s a small thing i noticed and its the way the nozzle works. it’s different than the old models. normally the nozzle is closed inflight untill max AB is selected or the gear is lowered. now it is somewhere inbetween full open and full closed and moves with rpm. is this the way the model is created or is it something i have done wrong installing your great model?
Again, thanks for your fantastic work!

WoW! Amazing model and texture work!
Quick question, I installed it also in tomcatz Ostsee theater. Copied the skins dds files and removed the dds files with the same number from the high res folder. But now I see the canopy scratches as overlay over the water textures. So it’s looks like the sea got scratches. Any idea? Or do have to ask Tomcatz?
Thx/alvast bedankt!

@ Anaconda: I did not check the old models. I prefer to build what I see in pics and vids (photo’s over drawings for example). My work is not prefect and I assume someone else’s interpretation (drawings/models) is not either. Too many times I found out the hard way that those kind of reference material was wrong and I had to redo it. Go for the real deal is my advise…
@ Bertuz: I have no idea how you did that, but since the RNLAF skins only use the original BMS RNLAF skin numbers I don’t think it has anything to do with my model. If you made a back-up, put it back and try again…

Hi JanHas,
Firstly thanks for these beautiful artwork. I finally threw in the towel and gave it a shot at the LE today and got the files working!
However there’s one slight problem and that’s the wheels are sunk into the ground per the below picture. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong?
Thank you again. Love your awesome work!
-
@Tofu88: It looks like this taxiway model is higher than the actual earth model. It’s not your fault. Thing is that the wheels only “feel” the earth, not any poly above that. If the taxiway is 0.1 feet above ground the wheels would be 0.1 below the taxiway poly. I did compensate for it in f-16’s dat file and used Kunsan AB to align the wheels with the runway/taxiway but any different taxiway height and you will see what you have in that screenshot. It would be nice if the planes actually feel the runway poly model too…

Thanks for the quick response. Good to know I did it right.
Now to spend some time updating all the other models with your lovely texture.
If only BMS had a texture “installer”
Thanks again

Would be very easy to make. Just have a folder and write a basic batch file to copy .dds ( being all files ending “.dds”) to C:\Falcon BMS 4.33 U1\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj. You’d still need to copy the files to location of the script so you may as well just manually install the textures to the KoreaObj folder - it’s just a drag and drop

You could use JSGME:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Others/Miscellaneous/Generic-Mod-Enabler.shtmlI’ve been using it from time to time whitout problems.
If you’re not familar whit it, try have a look at the manal:

I have released version 2 of the RNLAF package. There were three issues. Download via my website.
1. Tail strobe above chute housing was in the wrong place (only visible deep inside the chute housing with chute deployed. Only LOD1 is to be re-installed.
2. The texture for the refuel “hole” had accidentally moved, 2739.dds is fixed.
3. There was a small hole near the base of the static wick on top if the tail. Only a LOD1 issue. -

ZoomOut;)Say what? I’m familiar with JSGME but thought we had to use the LodEditior anyway to get the textures in?
Or have I missed something?
… Im still very much a noob with all this LE in BMS so thanks.

Or have I missed something?
Yes you missed something!! lol
You can deposit the skins directly into your \Falcon BMS 4.33 U2\Data\Terrdata\objects\KoreaObj folder.
If they’re HiRes than they go in the KoreaObj_HiRes folder.
Backup those folders just for safe keeping, in case anything goes wrong or you wish to revert back.
LodEditor is only necessary if you are going to install License plates.

Doh :wfish:
Thanks C9. Saved me a few hours of unnecessary work.
