Recently I enjoyed modded F-14 with 1980’s campaign.

However, tomcat suffer constant roll when body pylon is used.

(I know it is known problem…)

Still I cannot find method to solve this problem in file editing.

Is there any info or link related to solve this problem?

F-14 is not to be considered as flyable. Expect issues.

I was not able to find what cause the issue. In released state you will find this but when the new F-14 will be done by Nizmo’s group this will be forgotten because of new 3D model. We just have to wait a little bit more. I’m not sure but mayte this fixed somehow in stock DB I just forgot update my DB with fixed (?) LOD (?). Maybe not the F-14 the problem itself maybe the rack has worng CG. I do not know.

It is the STOCK AFM that makes this roll.

F-14 doesn’t roll anymore with our AFM, couple more weeks.

its the stock MODEL, with incorrectly aligned center pylons. The AFM calculates drag, and with incorrectly aligned pylons, drag is offset.

I dont believe that the problem comes from AFM (which is shit anyway i hope yours will be much better)

If you think so please tell me where

I think there is a model problem indeed

No wonder its gone if its in the model then 😉

We will have something viable here within a few weeks.

Exactly this. It is caused by Phoenix pallets on the centerline. So if you carry sparrows in the tunnel and your AIM-54s on the draggy outboard stations, youll be just fine. If you carry any bombs there will be problems.

With LOD Editor you have to open the DB then just starts the work…

I can fix the problem in LOD Editor. Thanks a lot MOLNI!!

                                I just change number related to the position of rack… then, there is no roll anymore…;;

Which rack? What value you set? Because even you fix with AIM-54 it may roll with AIM-7s.

Go to LOD ed and load KoreaObj.hdr file, then you can find F-14A/B/D LOD file and load it.

There is a slot data which present position of the racks.
(it does not affect position of graphical position of racks. Graphical position of racks can be modified in each rack’s LOD)

Slot data of #3 represent F-14’s fuselage pylon and asymmetric Y value causes constant roll. I changed it as Zero.

And there is no roll….(for both AIM-54, AIM-7, and AG weapons) I hope it will be helpful for TOMCAT LOVERS!!

so great - small effort to look into - but a world of a difference.

                                          thanks!

i knew this several months ago, but i thought nobody care in this forum.
every time i ask question like this, there must be someone said:“fly F-16, ignore them”.

                                            infact, F-18C F-111F should be re-write too.
