Flashing weapon camera view ??
-
Hi Guys,
With 433u2 I always have problem when using weapon camera view (shift+7).
Mine always flashes after a few seconds.I have seen some youtube videos and it seems this issue does not effect all people.
is there a way to get rid or minimize this flashing screen issue?
Please advise. -
same issue here when i use weapon camera view .
In cameraview and changing the view to outside view (looking at the weapon from the right) flashing is stoppedATI 6950
-
same to me, only in some normal bomb like gbu 12

Glad you posted it. I’ve been seeing the same symptom since 4.32, I think. At some point I came to a conclusion that it must be a side effect of my inefficient gfx (ATI HD 6570) and that I simply had to learn to live with it, but perhaps now someone more knowledgeable will suggest a solution And, yes, it occurs with bombs only, I can watch Mavericks all the way to the target in an undisturbed camera view.

I had the same problem. But I found when in weapon view (shift f7) if I immediately switch to ‘orbit view’ it actually switches to an orbit view of the freefalling bomb and the flashing is gone. And as a bonus you can scroll around the freefalling bomb.

IMHO I believe that in weapons view Shift-F7 what appears to be flashing is the bomb going through clouds perhaps? If I stay with it it stops which tells me that it has gone through the clouds. At least this is how I’ve made sense of this.

it’s the same without clouds

I had the same issue. That flashing weapon view occurred since BMS 4.32 and remain till 4.33 update 3. It happened only with bombs, all kind of bombs including Dump bombs, JDAM bombs, Laser bombs…Cloud or no Cloud, bad or good weather or graphic settings all have nothing to do with this issue. It remains the same flashing screen. If I still keep the view after the bomb hit, the whole screen will stop flashing but turn blank in silver-grey color, until I hit “3” to jump back to the cockpit. It is a bug.

Yeah, I observe exactly the same symptoms, but do you think the bug shows in 100% installs/machines? There haven’t been many reports of such weird behaviour…
-
Same thing to me. I was thinking of toying with some of the video settings but never got around to it.

I don’t get that bug so it’s not on all machines I guess…
-
Right, that’s what I thought, otherwise there would be a lot more signals that something is wrong with the SHFT-7 view…

I think that happened on a lot of machines but many guys didn’t care much about it…

Hello, what is your system? Is yours windows 10 + Nvidia Gefore graphics? I think the issue only exist on system with Nvidia graphics, not ATI.

Sorry - not necessarily… I have an ATI gfx card, it’s a pretty old 1 gig HD6570. The flashing screen when watching a bomb hit is the only graphic glitch I get. Otherwise the sim runs dead stable on my machine (Win7/64), even though I must live with low FPS.

I had this on my old system, radeon 1g HD6870, so it’s not only NVidia, have not tested with my new one as yet…

If you want a comparison to a system that doesn’t have this problem, here’s mine:
Win 10 x64
Intel i7 3770k
Nvidia 560ti
16 gigs DDR3 RAM
128GB SSD <- that’s where windows and BMS is installed.Hope it helps
Cheers! -
Could it be FOV related? Seen more issues here myself since increasing FOV here.
Cheers Obi1

OK thanks, I got the flashing screen with my system: Win10 Pro x64, Intel Core I7 4750K, Nvidia GTX 760.For your info, I have tested and find this is a bug inside the main BMS EXE file (FalconBMS.exe). BMS 4.32 did not have this problem, but after I replace the FalconBMS.exe in BMS 4.32 (…\Bin\x86) with the same file from BMS 4.33 U3, this issue happen right away, although BMS 4.32 still can run very well with the EXE file from 4.33!
