Arty this is an airbus…. not a boeing In their site they have the “Artistic version” like the airbus for the colors but all real photos the planes are white with blue logos only. So untill a more recent photo is revealed im ok with that

E-7A Wedgetail coming soon for downloading… 3 skins will be available Australian,Korean and Turkish The model is completed i just need to make the textures! stay tuned! Therefore as there isnt a record in the database either you have to make one of your own or replace an existing model or install a new one to one of the empty records (when i do that i usually add a new model and i rename it in Editor) the model will be “tuned” to have all 3 skins. So if you want to use it in a campaign u can select the skin u want with either camo.cfg either doing the dance in the lod editor and deleting all other skins on the list of the root of the model! more soon

For those who know the dance replacing a model with lodeditor!
Remember change nDof and nSwitch to 255 also skins to 7 (its 5 in the default) hit update. In my setup i have only 1 lod visible so i changed the nlod as well to 1 and distance to 1000 (lower lods hopefully will come) Current textures are 4096*4096 will post soon lower textures as well also in the zip i include new dat file that goes to sim folder. REMEMBER if you change the sim folder is multiplayer critical so take a backup Rename the dat file accordinly in what you will change or addhttp://www.mediafire.com/file/408sgmvddpjimvj/E-7A.zip

So as I understood from the talk with PumpyHead in this very topic, this one might be allowed for use by BMS as part of the official install?

Switch yes it may be available but let me make a lower tricount one this one stands at 42k right now they can take it as is if they dont have a problem. Its mapped in a single texture witch can reduced easily

42k is not really a problem for heavies as they are not part of 4 ships flight and rather outside the action, especially for Elint ones.
We have someone working on a C-5 in the team, and it’s obvious 30k is impossible for such aircraft… Lots of landing gear, big bus, cargo doors, … Those eats tri literally, nothing we can do about it except doing our best to keep a good balance between visuals and triangles.
As long as you have good lower LODs and good distances as well (this is even more important for eating tri counts models such as those heavies), it should as I said, not be a problem.

I see what i can do 10k its not that hard to reduce i think at least without major abnormalities in the mesh. See the lates post i did in the A-7 thread and thats 55% reduce to cut it to 35k and the mesh its still preety good. And by the recent static model i did for Ikaros i believe i can do it.
Here is it: More then 50% reduce of the triangles and it starts to be a bit jaggy on the edges so i believe a 20-30 range is doable without major losses

It’s the attention to detail that makes you go WOW.
You may see them on the ground from close with clever done Te’s and you may have to meet them in the air from close tooSo these details shouldn’t go IMHO.

Well, that doesn’t make any sense…
= populating airbases with ground objects so to simulate a more “live” environment. Normally 1, max 2 of this static bird will be placed ONLY to the original squadron homebase.
I guess you haven’t checked Ikaros (ready) airbases, nor the documentation regarding GSE’s;
