@lemonides Honnestly Iā ve had bad perf on the ground in bms and then most of my flight was nice and fluid.
You were right! I did the following:
FPS was constantly at 90, but in the cockpit I could hardly read side panel labels.
I started increasing the fVRResolution and managed to reach 1.3 . Anything after that i have stuttering . Indeed in the air it stables at 90 FPS.
I noticed that when my FPS drops below 80 it is when I start see stuttering (around 70).
Question is, what are you able to trade in terms of ground fps vs visual in flightā¦
To be honest, I am not really interested in ground FPS. For me, it is more important to have smooth flight with stuttering and a readable good-looking cockpit
Is the fVRResolution the setting that would make the cockpit more readable/smooth?
@lemonides said in help with low FPS on VR:
set g_bVRParallelRenderThread 0
Try
set g_nAdditionalWorkers -10 set g_bVRParallelRenderThread 1
Roger, will try that now
How is it going once in the air or on the landing TE?
I havent tried that yet to be honest. So far i just get in the cockpit and observe fps. Which, as you mentioned its not the best place to test your fps ā¦rolf
Thatās a big resolution in steamVR, I would completely disable the antialiasing and reduce the resolution in ssteamVR as low as you can tolerate.
I thought that this resolution was the default for the G2. I just googled and it seems that Resolution Per Eye is ā2160 x 2160ā . I guess i can start from there and work my way up/down.
I was expecting i would have much better perfomance in bms since it is not very demanding in Graphics.
I noticed that when i look outside the cockpit and look at the hangar the motion is very smooth. As soon as i look at the cockpit this is when stuttering starts to happend.
I just need smooth motion with some decent resolution. I had a pixeled environment in DCS in order to fly with VR so i am hoping i will not have to do same for bms.
How is it without Motion Smoothing and Advanced Supersample Filtering?
Its the same unfortunately
I dont remeber have such perfomance when i installed bmsā¦ if i recall correcly it was pretty smooth. Only thing i change the last few days was to update GPU drivers
Hi. I went through various posts and documentation regarding my low FPS with VR but i am still confused of whats going on and what actually needs to change.
Specs:
Headset: HP reverb G2
CPU: i5-13600KF
GPU: RTX2080
My settings are:
steam VR Resolution Per Eye:100%
set g_fVRResolution 1
set g_bEnvironmentMapping 0
set g_bWaterEnvironmentMapping 0
set g_bShadowMapping 0
set g_bVRParallelRenderThread 0
Triple buffering OFF
Antialiasing 1
Issue:
With almost default settings i am getting around 30-40 FPS while on Korea Theater āGround operationsā training mission. Thats on ramp. I can also tell some stuttering when i move my head.
I noticed the following when using fpsVR
I was able to get higher FPS(50-60) when reducing SteamVR RPE (resolution per eye) down to 50% but yet i still noticed some stuttering.
question:
Is this performance with an RTX2080 normal?
You can observe my configuration and fpsVR in bellow images (note, one screenshot has steamVR RPE to 130% :
